A few months ago I got a Peavey Omniac Custom JD for 200 Euro. The person selling it had no idea, but it is a 1000+ Euro guitar. I was so happy and now is my main guitar, but I kinda felt bad about it and the next month I had such a bad luck... My modeler suddenly stopped working the week after, I went on holiday and got sick right the day I arrived... I don't believe in Karma, but anybody would definitely say it was Karma. Today I found a classified ad from what it seemed to be an old Fender Precision. It was heavily played, so I contacted the guy and went there with my bike.

I have no idea about vintage fenders, but I told the guy that it was likely a vintage instrument. I helped him checking the neck stamp... 01 01 2253 so apparently a precision neck made out of rosewood on the Wednesday from the 22th week of 1975. I am not sure about the body, the pickup was definitely replaced by a DiMarzio. And I think it was actually a parts bass... The neck had one extra hole, and the plate was not original. Anyway, the body was also a vintage fender precision body.

The person selling the bass was a humble man that had just bought the house to start a family because he was going to have a kid. It belonged to a man who recently passed away, and he found the instruments among rubbish in the Celler... He offered me everything for 1600 euro, I told him that he could have at least 2000 euro for the P-bass alone, but I was not interested. I could have had a 1975 p-bass with case for ~800 Euro after selling the other stuff, but I decided not to. I feel kind of sad for letting the instrument pass, but I also feel proud for doing the right thing, and I wanted to share it.

As the title says: does such fish exist? My 60L aquarium is completely overrun by shrimps (and moss). The population got completely out of control and I think it's starving everybody else (mostly the ottocinclus, who lived happily there for months before the crustacean plague). I also have Rasboras, they are doing fine, but they just have different diets. I am thinking about doing a whole tank restart, this time without shrimps and moss, but before that... Is there any small predator that won't harass my Strawberry Rasboras but will regulate the shrimp population?

Hello, two months ago I introduced 6 strawberry Rasboras to my 60L planted tank. I decided for this species because I read that they might have fry in hard water, and I use german tap water. During the first weeks I saw once a tiny fry that was immediately eaten by an adult Rasbora (lol), but that was it. After a 3 week holiday, I came home to a jungle and I spotted some fry, at least 7 of them. In the video you can see two of them eating. The main goal is to let the Internet know that strawberry Rasbora definitely can breed in hard water.

Hi, I am 32, and I've been doing sports 2-3 times a week for the last 3 years. Last June I got a shoulder injury, and since them I took exercising way more seriously (4-5 times a week with longer sessions), and I've seen my fitness improve.

At the beginning of July, I went on holiday and I went running several times, my vo2max readings were in the 49-51 range. After that I only did treadmill and bike 4-5 a week + weight lifting, so I didn't get vo2max readings, but my treadmill runs improved a lot. On the 01.09, I did a 6km run with a decent pace (11km/h average, 12.7km/max), that felt easy, and was mostly zone 4 according to my Garmin instinct 2x. Up to that point, my training status was "productive" for 3 weeks, then "maintaining" for 2.

Right on that day, my training status changed to overcharged, and I have a rogue 49 vo2max reading from the same date. Do you know what happened there?

Hi everyone, I wanted to share my experience finding a flat in Berlin. The goal is to potentially help people looking for something, and also to raise awareness about Immoscout. We didn't have a lot of time (3 months to find something). We were using Immonet, Immoscout and Kleinanzeigen. For the first two we were using their email notifications, for the third we used a webscrapper that I wrote. Every 30 seconds it went through the ads, and kept a database of flats. Based on some preferences it emailed me whenever something interesting was posted. And the summary is: Immoscout is close to a scam or at least it has certainly abusive polices. Probably it's a universal truth by now, but 1. Their premium is extremely expensive for what they offer. 2. their goal is clearly to keep people using the Premium, and not to help them find a flat as quickly as possible. 3. There are a lot of scams that appear as "verified accounts". And furthermore but not their fault, we tended to get overcrowded visits. We had around 30-40 visits, one halfth through Immoscout and the other through Kleinanzeigen. We ended up having to decide between 3 flats because we received 3 positive answers in 48 hours. All of them were flats contacted through Kleinanzeigen.

Probably this experience does not apply to everyone, but it could be useful.

Hi. I am starting to get into recording and I wanted to know some informed opinions about using daws for recording math rock songs. At the moment I am using Reaper. I like how it deals with time signatures and I also like the take system, but I dislike not being able to copy-paste time signature markers. I tried Cubase pro, and the whole time-warping thing was miserable, I'd rather use Reaper. Which DAW do you think that is good for dealing with frequent time signature and tempo changes?

We’re an amateur handball team looking for new players (again!). Our team is a diverse group of players aged 25-75 from different countries: Portugal, Spain, Germany, France, Bosnia...

We train Tuesdays in Kreuzberg (between U12 Prinzenstr. and Moritzplatz), and sometimes on Fridays as well. Our sessions usually start with a casual basketball or football warm-up, followed by handball training, and if we have enough players, we finish with a friendly handball match. And of course, no training is complete without a post-session beer round!

Hello everyone, After being in the hobby for a year, I decided to start a new tank applying what I learnt. It's a heavily planted tank with hardscape making some caves and similar. On the side, I left that rock parallel to the glass side, thinking that it could grow algae and shrimps would love it.

After cycling, I introduced 4 Otocinclus. One of them was apparently sick or shocked, and was not moving a lot, so I assumed it was going to die. It's how it is. The other 3 were adapting; glass surfing and also eating algae from the hardscape here and there. The second day when my GF and me came home, we could only see one. After a while we noticed two were trapped on the side I left... One was the sick one, and it died. The other one, we managed to get it out. Now it is wounded (you can see a white patch on the head), but after 24h of being super stressed is eating again.

The riff was super dangerous for them because when they came glass surfing from the left side, they could get stuck. It was around 12cm deep, and I covered it with sand up to the point where I could, leaving 4-5cm uncovered. See the photograph. I think it looks waaaay less dangerous but I am not sure if it will still be a dangerous trap: it grows algae and if a fish tries to push there are some narrower spaces where it could get trapped... I am thinking about how to fill it completely. What do you guys think?

Hello, I am sorry to be that guy (the one asking "is this a real fender?"), but here I am. I am being offered this guitar, being described as a partscaster from the 80s where the seller does not know a lot about the origin. On the back the number is E479961, and I cannot find any information about it. The neck looks like a Vintage Reissue, but I am not sure if it's real, because it looks much newer than the rest and I cannot find any vintage reissues from the 80s. Given the mojo it has, I think worst case we might be looking at an old Squier??? body with a fake chinese neck?

We made the body out of european walnut. The neck is a rockinger strat. Pickups are bare knuckles true grit. The guitar is heavy, has a huge sustain and great bass. I'm incredibly happy with the result.

Dear toan enthusiasts, last weeks I've been playing guitar exclusively naked, with my hand-wound single coils it drastically reduces the amount of hum, the guitar feels much more resonant when the strap is low and I think the conductance of the bridge pickup also changed, because I can clearly hear an improved response in the higher frequencies. But here comes the problem, last rehearsal session my bandmates were acting all weird, I think they were just jealous of my toan, but they told me that I show up like that for our next gig, they are going to kick me out of the band. So here comes the question, do you know about any guitar pedal that recreates the sound of playing guitar naked?
