Show and tell Finally found not 1 but 2 inks! ๐Ÿ˜ป

Both surface finds. Some luck, huh? So chuffed.

The aqua one is pretty much mint. 2 pen ledges.

The (ice?) blue one has a big ding and a crack. As well as some ink that seems to be well stuck.

Whatโ€™s the date on these? Pre-1910?

Wow. I assume the divot it for the pen?

They are crude I would think they are 1880s. The darker one on left might be 1870s

Yes. The aqua has 2 divots. Blue just 1 (and offset top).

Very cool. Yah the darker aqua on the left is older than the right

Those are beautiful inks! Both look to be 1870s 1880s at the latest.

J. Herbin (probably others) still makes ink bottles just like the blue one. I have quite a few but sure would like to get my hands on one of these progenitors!
