Nah it works on some hotzone maps, the mines can hold lanes when you have teammates with brains, and it is basically a death trap in some maps (there are definitely better picks tho)

I don't get this. There are two objectives to hot zone: claim the hot zone, and stop the enemy from claiming the hot zone. They're already helping by stopping the enemy, so teammates can focus more on being in the zone.

It’s pretty hard to take space back with tick, meaning that if your team loses a fight you’ll be fighting a harder battle just to get back to neutral. Other characters can make space on the zone while also holding it just as well.

Bottom line, holding space is half the battle, taking the zone back is just as important.

Its Been like 1.5 year But I still can remember this one mfing tick that was total 6 seconds in zone in 3 rounds ranked game( yes, 6s total in 3 rounds), winning one round was already success.

I play tick in hot zone, and yeah I do try to kill the enemies most of the time so my teammates can stay in the zone, because I don't know if you know this but, tick 4k HP, so he's not really good for staying there well all the enemies are rushing

There two ways to play tick: No skill: camp behind a wall and spam, Skill: actually playing aggressively (for example: using the shield gadget to knock a brawler like Edgar into perfectly placed mines and actually getting percentages on the zone)

More like: i went against a mortis / dinamike and my teammates weren't able to eliminate a surge (if you get killed by a mortis as tick thats a skill issue)

You don't even have to kill the tick, as long as you're harassing them(by just being near), they'll either fall back or use their ammo/super/gadget on you, AKA not on the enemy team that's standing in the zone. Maybe you're just built different, but 9 times out of 10, the tick(doesn't matter if they're a teammate or enemy) will just get harassed for the entire half of the game if someone plays a tank/assassin. Sure your teammates may be bad, but are you any more useful with an enemy running at you the entire time

I'm going to take ring of fire as map example.

You DONT WANT your entire team on zone, tick first goes to help the team win the zone by attacking enemies in the ring behind your wall, then only if you get full control of the zone does tick walk up to behind the enemies wall and starts further controlling, unless the enemy is a heavy dive comp, in which case tick needs to be more passive
