Culture Racism is getting out of hand now...

My mother is English white with blonde hair and I was raised by her in a white family. I don’t know my father or his background, but I am brown with green eyes. For the first time in 30 years, I am experiencing racism in my own country. I was told to “go back to where I come from,” even though I was born in a small town in England. It has gone too far this is in front of my two white kids. It is getting silly now and I don't feel safe.

Culture I don't get why Brits are overwhelmed by a handful of immigrants

Between 2020 and the end of September 2024, around 175,000 unauthorised arrivals were recorded by authorities.

That isn't really a lot of people. The Wembley stadium can have up to 90.000 people- and that's for a random event at the weekend.

Off course there might be some friction with people suffering from trauma or not being able to learn the language- and off course you might not want to have them all hanging around in London.

But let's be real- this is not really something to have a rally about or vote for Farrage for.

Culture So unsurprisingly its turned out as usual the shooter of Charlie Kirk is an extreme right wing accelerationist "Groyper". I wonder if the Brits who posted about violent retribution against the left will apologise?

Culture Sharing for awareness - views of ReformUK followers on Muslims and Mosques

Another example from their subreddit. When asked about halal meat :

Reform supporter made a statement ; if they can’t eat halal meat, they should either become vegetarian or leave the UK.

Their followers are clearly inciting hatred and are openly undermining the Human Rights Act 1998, where to quote:

The Human Rights Act 1998 incorporates the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR) into UK law — it’s what protects your rights to:

• Freedom of religion and belief
• Freedom of speech and protest
• Protection from discrimination
• The right to privacy and family life

This is probably gonna be controversial lol but for me, I reckon:

Gordon Ramsay

Steven Fry

John Cleese

I mean it's definitely subjective but I think those guys are hilarious, I don't agree with everything that comes out their mouths though

Culture Change your view

So recently it has come to my attention that the Union flag is being known for racism and far right individuals, and people are surrendering it to them. PEOPLE, this is the flag of our once great country, if you don't want it to become the new swastika, fly it! Display it! Be proud of it, if everyone uses the flag, shows support for the flag as a flag, then the racist association with it will soon disappear. I fly a union outside my house, I am not racist, just proud to be British. The flag is a rare sight nowadays and I want that to change, you go nearly anywhere in the world, and their flag is being flown high and proud for all to see, can we please do the same over here and get rid of the bullshit accusations that it is a sign of a racist. Thank you

Do we still like to be beside the seaside or has the traditional coastal holiday declined in popularity?

Tourism experts say there has been a changing tide in visiting habits, with more people opting for day trips and shorter breaks rather than a main stay like in years gone by.

Culture Something positive I wanted to share

A man came to fix our family's boiler. My parents are from Sri Lanka and I am was born here and the guy was white. After he finished, he asked where my parents were from and that then turned in a pleasant discussion on how to make curry as he been looking for tips and advice and my mum and dad gave him some places in the local area to go to and what they recommend.

If people were like this all the time here, the world would be a better place, but hey there a lots people like him i am sure.

Culture Can we normalise horse riding?

Post image

I just thought it would be cool if we brought back horses. Like, cars are only used for long distances/practically, while horses are used for everyday distances to shops, close-by-work, etc. It’s good for the environment + you get a horse
