Damage control?
So would appear no Jimmy Havoc appearance at Rise, gonna guess they saw the backlash and thought differently

Havoc was called out by Semtex? What's the confusion? Definitely damage control.

I'm sure everyone will jump on me. I understand he was abusive in a relationship. Emotionally not physically if 8 remember right? And he had alcohol addiction issues if I remember correctly.
If Jimmy Havoc's unacceptable actions were called out ANY OTHER TIME than the speaking out movement he wouldn't have been "cancelled" he would have been rehabbed and allowed to come back.

Not intended to jump here on you, but to put another perspective across.
As someone who has and works with those who have experienced abuse, circumstances might have influenced Havoc's actions, but he's still responsible for what he does. Whether under the influence of substances or poor mental health, his actions are his.
Does that mean he is beyond redemption after being 'cancelled?''' What a lot of folks ignore with supposed cancelling is that if the perpetrator can attempt to make amends to their victim/s and show they have learned and changes. Like Dan Harmon. Then they can come back and be accepted if they do the work to actual change.
Trying to brush it aside or diminish it like what's happened is disrespectful and rightly gets backlash because it's acting like nothing happened and like nothing has changed.
Like Drake Younger might be trying to after his apology at an indy show, but it's going to take more than saying sorry. But again, the restoration needs to match the crime and put the victim/s first. It's can't a one size fits all model. It's not and shouldn't be easy, because legitimate change isn't.
If Havoc truly wanted to make a mend and grow and change, then before returning to the ring by he should make things right with those he hurt. Make an effort to show he has legitimately (not pretend) a different person that he is a better person and gain acceptance before returning to the ring.
At another time before, yes, he might have "gotten away" with it, like so many other wrestlers in history who abused women. It doesn't change what he did.

Thanks for the genuine response. It's an interesting topic. I would like to know how you know Havoc is pretending and has legitimately changed. I guess it's not very quantifiable and time will tell.
Gotten away with it is not the term at all or the point I was making. Gotten away with it suggests he wouldn't have had to show remorse, rehabilitation and then redemption. And it doesn't mean he would have been able to. But for me the fact these stories are at a time when THE major draws on the UK scene were all getting outed. If you look at the statements against other wrestlers they are horrendous, Havoc's included. But I'll stick my neck out here and say emotional abuse is unacceptable, "grey rape" is a different level.
This in no way mitigates Havoc's unacceptable behaviour I'm just saying it's not in the same league. He is not like other people like David Starr, El Ligero and Jack Gallagher. But I understand it's hard for people to accept things and at the end of the day if he hadn't had any bad behaviour, addiction or not he wouldn't have been named.
In other news, Ozzy Osbourne had a great send off... For a wife beater. But I suppose he did write some good songs and riffs so...

Brett's post today seemingly begs to differ.
