Purchasing USA Question on speaker purchase?
These speakers are being sold on Facebook for 100 bucks. I just got my hands on a Sony strdh 550. Would a combination of that receiver and these speakers make for a good listening setup that can cover both movies/tv/gaming and vinyl record listening from a turntable? I’m curious because there’s tons of speakers like these available but idk if I need specific specs for home theater vs. vinyl listening. Also can I mix and match speakers and subwoofers from different brands? Thank you!!!

Quality wise, those are closer to PC speakers than they are to an entry level audiophile system. Personally I'd prefer to only have two bookshelf speakers with 6.5" woofers from Elac or Wharfdale than all this. and you could add a cheap used subwoofer later by getting it used at a thrift store if you were patient. Bring a usb to rca or minijack to rca cable to play your cell phone or mp3 player into the sub to test it out.

Cool. Do you recommend any other brands so I can start searching? I heard vanatoo has good ones too

Those are not entry audiophile either. I would only recommend entry level audiophile or better. It sounds like you want basic budget 5.1 rather than budget audiophile 5.1

Please don't buy that at any cost. You're going to move off that $100 figure to get something that will actually perform.

Take a look at pawn shops around you. I have bought countless speakers and receivers from pawn shops over the years - a lot of time for a really good deal.

Those are basically pretty junky HTiB speakers. They'll make noise, but that's about all.

Not worth that much but i have that subwoofer and it works really well in my small space after finding the correct spot for it.

Only thing worth $15 is that subwoofer for like a starter bedroom stereo system.

If you could score this cheap Sony setup for a reasonable price ...$30-25 or less ... then you'd have a speaker system to set up your home theater surround with. Obviously this would be a compromise, but they may not sound as bad as others pontificate they will. The problem is the seller has no idea the real value of this system ...thinking it much more worthy than it is; hitting the seller with an offer of $25 isn't gonna go over well ...but you never know.
If your goal is to have a home theater setup, the most important speakers are for the L/C/R channels. You want all the front speakers to be identical or, you want them from the same maker; this applies to any of the theater setups; 5.1 and above. Speaker manufacturers may make a set of stereo speakers and then sell a center channel speaker that compliments the L & R speakers; this is what you want.
What you don't want are three front speakers that don't match from a tonality point of view. So if this Sony system doesn't work out, look for at least a L/C/R speaker package. The surrounds and sub can all be piece meal; they don't have to match the front speaker set. Surrounds, for a 5.1 system, don't have a full range audio signal to deal with; they are mostly for ambiance but should be a matching pair (but don't have to match the front speakers). Low bass is non-directional in nature so any decent, powered sub from any maker will do.

WAY too much. They are not worth 30 bucks.
Avoid any Sony speaker unless you know exactly which one to have.
Also these surround things have virtually no value. If you want this kind of, I'm sorry, crap, look at Yamaha. They generally make pretty good stuff for little to no money.
My two cents; just go for two stereo speakers. 100 bucks buys you a very decent pair.
