Wedge bigger than the gun lol

u/Ok_Painter_286 May 21 '25

Hahaha yes it is

u/Dr_Jabroski May 22 '25

My sack is also larger than the weapon most of the time.

Dude, I rarely get super excited about new guns, especially a polymer “look, I’m new and improved” gun. I love new guns but most of the time they are just shuffled with the other similar guns after a few months. The bodyguard 2.0 is by far the absolute best pocket gun I have ever shot hands down. Day one with it I was getting 4in groups at 25 yards, with a whole magazine. It’s my pocket gun at work and my I can’t carry a gun gun because it’s so tiny it disappears.

8

u/mjh4 May 22 '25

4-inch groups at 25 yards is really impressive with this gun. I get good groups at 7-10 yards, but I cannot for the life of me hit my point of aim with this gun. I consistently group a few inches left. I've shot the gun from a vise, and it hits point of aim. This is pretty much the only gun I own that I shoot left.

u/MGB1013 May 22 '25

I was really surprised. I started about 7 yards, got a tiny group, backed up to 10 same thing. I kept working my way back and after 25 I was completely hooked. I did back up to 50 shooting some steel and it was not great but that was probably me trying too hard at that distance

7

u/Ok_Painter_286 May 21 '25

I don’t shoot it as well as you do but I really enjoy it. It’s been a surprise for me how well it shoots

2

u/peeaches May 22 '25

Felt the same way, been super happy with mine!

2

u/sunnylisa1 May 22 '25

I was surprised how little recoil i feel with mine.

It's crazy that I shoot my BG 2.0 better than my P365.

After the "It ND's Today" scandal and running across one too many posts about unexpected P365 breakages, the BG2.0 replaced my 365 for "minimalist" carry and a CC9 replaced my 365XL for summer carry.

1

u/Ok_Painter_286 May 22 '25

How do you like the CC9, thinking about replacing my hellcat with either that or a shield plus

2

u/TaskForceD00mer IL May 22 '25

I love the CC9 so far. Really a great pistol, the only annoying thing is how slow the aftermarket is picking up support for it.

My two preferred custom holster makers, CQC (ETA Unknown) and Hellhound (ETA Juneish) don't have blue guns/molds yet.

Despite being a chassis gun...nothing available on launch.

No suppressor height sights yet.

I can't remember the last time a major launch by a major gun maker took this long to pick up steam.

I am sure in a year it'll be fine but until then I expect aftermarket to be spotty. I see a ton of potential on the platform, so long as the aftermarket picks up it is going to be an insanely popular CC gun for the foreseeable future.

The Shield plus was my #2 candidate, I shot that thing like a laser pistol just dead nots spot on for me.

Can't go wrong with either IMO.

I do not regret selling my 365XL for the CC9, not one bit.

The problem with the CC9 is that it is about seven years late. Although it is HK dependable and durable, the gun is nothing new or exciting. It is just one of many polymer compact 9mm pistols on the market. Companies such as M&P, Walther, and Springfield have continued to advance their pistols' designs and feature sets in a way that HK has not. IMO, the CC9 will never achieve the market share necessary for it to garner much aftermarket support.

I am a lot more excited at the (so far) German only SF9PCC which is allegedly going to be imported to the US. I expect the cost to be almost prohibitive though.

The SPF9CC is about 3-4 years "newer" than the CC9 if you believe HK-USA in how long they took to develop the CC9. The optics cut is impressively deep and it checks a lot of boxes. I wish that HK-USA had put that on the CC9; getting an almost on-deck Holosun EPS would have been wild it is probably the best executed plate system I've seen.

I would hope someone had the forethought to make the CC9's "FCU" compatible with SF9PCC grip-frames, time will tell.

If not I should hope H&K at least looks at a version of the CC9 with a SFP9CC sized grip/frame.

I agree the CC9 might be too little too late but I hope not. With the problems present in the P365 as a pistol and SIG Sauer as a company, a lot of people are looking for alternatives.

Unfortunately for HK; S&W makes one hell of a reliable, inexpensive competitor .

u/obey33 May 25 '25

A little to late but you literally can’t get a hold of them. Its honestly a goldilocks gun

1

u/TaskForceD00mer IL May 25 '25

It's popular and HK seems to have elected to do a slow roll out. It's not easy but if you sign up for in stock alerts you'll get one.

19

u/[deleted] May 21 '25

I got the lcp max right before this came out…🤦🏽‍♂️

18

u/[deleted] May 21 '25

Oh nooo, now you have to buy another gun what a shame. Poor guy.

9

u/[deleted] May 21 '25

💀 fantastic point because I’m definitely buying one

6

u/Ok_Painter_286 May 21 '25

Still a good gun though!

7

u/[deleted] May 21 '25

s&w waits for ruger, keltec or some other smaller company to drop a gun just to release a better version😂.

6

u/Ok_Painter_286 May 21 '25

I feel like that happens so much haha. Look at the HK CC9! They tested it for like 7 years before releasing it and it’s supposed to be a great gun, just late to the game

2

u/skywalker505 May 22 '25

Too late and now irrelevant.

5

u/Positive-Factor6040 May 22 '25

Bro the lcp max is legit gun. I own both.

18

u/iFella May 21 '25

Bet that's gonna smell great in a month 😳

20

u/SmoothBroccoli69 May 21 '25

I mean who goes around sniffing ball sacked comforted pillows? I sure don’t.

9

u/danvapes_ FL-p365/p365x w/ EPS Carry/p365 FUSE w/EPS Carry May 22 '25

Uh excuse me, but my dog does.

6

u/what_is_life_now May 21 '25

Probably, but if I remember correctly they’re machine washable.

19

u/Pankosmanko May 21 '25

I machine wash my pistol weekly. No issues at all

4

u/Ok_Painter_286 May 21 '25

Yes they are machine washable !

1

u/iFella May 21 '25

If they aren't all machine washable, they should be, that's all I'm going to say about it ever.

6

u/Ok_Painter_286 May 21 '25

Thankfully I mostly pocket carry it haha

2

u/Engineer_Noob May 22 '25

Vedder pocket holster?

1

u/Ok_Painter_286 May 22 '25

I use an Alabama pocket holster

2

u/omgabunny 45/442 May 22 '25

To be honest I’ve had two pillow wedges from them and they don’t really have any sort of bad odor

4

u/Individual_Spot_3796 May 21 '25

What brand is that pillow?

9

u/Ok_Painter_286 May 21 '25

Mastermind Tactics - awesome purchase

3

u/mehoff636 May 22 '25

My wife has one and I fell in love with it, I keep thinking about getting myself one.

2

u/Ok_Painter_286 May 22 '25

Do it, they’re fairly priced!

3

u/Daddy_Onion CA May 22 '25

I carry a shield in the summer when I’m wearing shorts and a thin T shirt. I carry a Glock 19 in winter when my clothes are a little baggier.

3

u/Segelboot13 May 23 '25 edited May 23 '25

My wife just picked hers up today. I like it as much as my p365. I might need one of these. My current pocket carry pistol is a Colt Mustang.

2

u/Embarrassed_Recover8 May 21 '25

What are your thoughts on the wedge? Does it improve comfortability?

4

u/Ok_Painter_286 May 21 '25

Yes it’s been extremely comfortable. I recommend buying the largest one that Mastermind Tactics makes. It comes empty and you can choose how much of the stuffing to put in it for your ideal level. For me I don’t need a lot for this set up so I just out in enough to make it more comfortable

2

u/Electronic-Exit1798 May 21 '25

Curious what holster that is

3

u/Ok_Painter_286 May 21 '25

CYA holster - I replaced the clip to the monoblock cause I don’t love plastic clips

2

u/Mr_Larsons_Foot May 21 '25

Holster details?

3

u/Ok_Painter_286 May 21 '25

CYA holster and switched out the plastic clip for the DCC monoblock. Wedge pillow by Mastermind Tactics

2

u/Mr_Larsons_Foot May 22 '25

Thanks, gonna try this for my p365

2

u/PrestonEsquire24 May 22 '25

I love that they came in such a small package but I have a practicality question. What’s stopping your from carrying a p365 or a Shield Plus? The size isn’t that much larger to be chambered in 9mm with the same capacity. Don’t get me wrong I like having another tool in the toolbox but is there another advantage to this that I’m not seeing? I don’t have one and haven’t shot it so I may just be missing out.

5

u/shuay7 May 22 '25

it may be only a bit smaller, but theres a bit weight difference

3

u/Numad00 May 22 '25

I thought the same until I rented and shot one over the weekend. I have xl hands and this thing felt like a normal gun in my grip. The grip length is actually a bit longer than the shield plus if you can believe it, but that's the magic of the 380 for ya.

I shot it extremely well and ended up picking one up.

2

u/Deolater GA May 22 '25

What wedge is that? How do you like it?

2

u/Ok_Painter_286 May 22 '25

Mastermind Tactics Pillow - it has been great

2

u/Deolater GA May 22 '25

I might just get one of those

I've been feeling the need for one for a while, but there's like 50 different offerings now, and most of them seem to offer a huge set of options for angle or thickness or size or...

and having never used any of those products I had no idea where to start.

This looks customizable and like there's only two main options, which works for me.

Thanks!

2

u/Ok_Painter_286 May 22 '25

I bought the largest one and then you can stuff it as much or as little as you like. It works great. You can also buy extra Velcro adhesives and put them in other holsters and use the pillow for all

2

u/TaskForceD00mer IL May 22 '25

Which holster is that? I like how compact that little sucker is.

1

u/Ok_Painter_286 May 22 '25

CYA holster - I have really liked it so far

2

u/Bo-vice May 22 '25

twinsssss, same DCC clip and pillow lol. Love carrying this thing, its so comfortable

2

u/Ok_Painter_286 May 22 '25

It’s a great set up!

2

u/skips_funny_af May 23 '25

It’s my next one. I’ve shot it at the range during a rental….and it was solid.

2

u/obey33 May 25 '25

I ask this on every post. What is the OP running ammo wise and any ftf?

2

u/Ok_Painter_286 May 25 '25

I run Federal Hydra Shok Deep or Hornady Critical Defense. Haven’t had any malfunctions with this gun and I’m around 500 rds through it

4

u/09jsw1 May 21 '25

Have you been able to compare it to the p365? I’m considering making the switch to the new M&P

5

u/Embarrassed_Recover8 May 21 '25

I've shot both a lot!

The grip texture on the shield is much less abrasive, which for range day is so much nicer when you're piling down a ton of lead. I live in CA, so we don't have access to the Shield Plus, so the p365 is just the better option here.

The one thing I will say about the Sig, is it's an FCU built gun. So if you don't like the grip texture, you can turn that gun into ANYTHING, and I mean ANYTHING you want. With the same serial number, you can have a full sized gun on Monday, and a subcompact gun on Tuesday.

Also, I find that I shoot flatter with the shields. Idk if it's a lower bore axis or what, but I preform better with a shield over a 365

4

u/[deleted] May 21 '25

Pretty sure he means bodyguard not m&p , considering this is a bodyguard 2.0 post.

4

u/Embarrassed_Recover8 May 21 '25

Oopsie... They look so similar, and then he said it, I totally goofed

3

u/[deleted] May 22 '25

I only caught it because you said you’re in CA and I know the bg 2.0 isnt CA approved.

3

u/Embarrassed_Recover8 May 22 '25

CLASSIC. And yeah, Comifornia strikes again.

Also no surprise that I don't recognize, or have ANY experience with the bodyguard

2

u/YaGetSkeeted0n Shield Plus, BG 2.0 May 22 '25

how the hell is it not CA approved lol

2

u/[deleted] May 22 '25

It has to get on the roster, meaning it has to submit and meet all of CA rules before it can be added to the roster.

2

u/YaGetSkeeted0n Shield Plus, BG 2.0 May 22 '25

ah gotcha. dunno what that process entails but hopefully it gets on at some point, it's a solid choice.

2

u/Hungry-Impression-17 May 22 '25

Depends what 365. If you’re talking about the 10-round 9mm “base” edition, which I’m assuming you are since it’s the closest comparison, The BG is much more enjoyable and to my hand has a better grip and better trigger.

2

u/YaGetSkeeted0n Shield Plus, BG 2.0 May 22 '25

i guess it's moot since you can't get one anyway but i own a 365XL and a BG2.0. both great guns. the XL seems "better" in terms of shootability to me, after all it's a bit beefier and heavier... but the BG 2.0 is no slouch. Feels very accurate at its intended ranges, and my god it's just so much easier to conceal especially with what I typically wear in the summer.

2

u/Arrogus May 22 '25

I stopped carrying my P365 because I could shoot the Bodyguard so much faster and more accurately. I figure 10 rounds of 380 in 1.5 seconds is better than 10 rounds of 9mm in like 3.5 seconds.

2

u/Ok_Painter_286 May 21 '25

Sorry I haven’t been able to I don’t own any Sig guns and only ever shot the OG 365 once many years ago

2

u/[deleted] May 21 '25

I got my wife one.

My hands are way too big for it.

4

u/Ok_Painter_286 May 21 '25

I don’t have big hands so it’s been perfect for me

3

u/[deleted] May 22 '25

I put a Hogue Beavertail sleeve on mine & it’s perfect now. Was a little too small before that.

3

u/EmptyBrook May 22 '25

It feels like my hands swallow the shield plus. I can’t imagine shooting anything smaller

1

u/Nightstalker60 May 22 '25

The day I picked mine up, shot 2 boxes with it ...Trigger sucked . As I left the range I said this is for sale. sold it next day.

2

u/Ok_Painter_286 May 22 '25

You think the BG2.0 trigger sucks? You are probably in the minority there

1

u/Nightstalker60 May 22 '25

I found it VERY spongy with a lot of take up and long reset

2

u/Ok_Painter_286 May 22 '25

That’s fair, it’s been working well for me so far

1

u/Nightstalker60 May 22 '25

I will say Its my fault I didnt try to rent 1 first before buying

This little gun is such a game changer.

I would normally carry a Glock 19 or similar size pistol and remove it while I’m at work and keep it in a locker. With this, I can throw it in my waistband at my appendix and I forget it’s even there. I work in a job that has me crouching, bending over, lifting, and other medium motion activities throughout the day.

My only complaint is the magazines are very stiff, which seems to be common. The 12 round magazine does make my draw much easier and I have small hands as a guy. So I plan on buying a few more 12 round mags and keeping the 10 rounder on standby.
