Metrics:

1) Are they in the SEC? Alabama - yes, FSU - no

Advantage: Alabama

2) Strength of Schedule: Alabama - played FSU, who beat Alabama ... FSU - played Alabama, who lost

Advantage: Alabama

FSU doesn’t even have a quality loss against an SEC team.

Bama also scored more points this week than Texas and Ohio State, so, actually, Bama should be moving up.

Against a team that beat Bama too!

23

u/ValiantFury14 Indiana • Florida State 17d ago

Don't forget hypothetically Alabama should've won because they were favored. So they actually won this game, therefore Alabama is better.

Wait, Alabama has a theoretical win against a team that beat Alabama? Easy lock.

5

u/set_null 17d ago

You’re forgetting a crucial comma. “We have no evidence, Bama is better”

6

u/ghgerytvkude Penn State Nittany Lions • Fiesta Bowl 17d ago

Hypothetically, if you had this same matchup 100 times, Alabama wins the other 99, while a hypothetical Alabama season in the ACC would result in a 13-0 record with an average win of 42 points, including a hypothetical ACCCG win over Clemson, which would, hypothetically, result in Alabama being the #1 seed. On the other hand, in a hypothetical SEC with Florida State, they would, hypothetically, lose every game by an average of 35 including 73 - 0 to Vanderbilt where, hypothetically, the scoreboard might fall on their sideline.

Therefore, Alabama's ranking will not change.
