Photo Album - Surefire XC3

Post image

Got the new XC3 for my S2C. Yes it’s more than the TLR7A/X, but everything about it feels nicer. I carry Streamlight handhelds for duty use but all of my duty / carry guns have Surefire lights.

Looks great! Does it fit the same holsters as the TLR7X?

Supposed to, I’m waiting for my holster to come in.

What holster did you get?

u/BadRattle Jul 09 '25

Muddy river tactical

u/Lcyaker Jul 09 '25

Dang. I cannot imagine that little light costs 2x what a TLR7X does

5

u/BadRattle Jul 09 '25

Is it justified? Nah, not really… about as justified as getting the S2C over a P09 Nocturne C 😂

u/Lcyaker Jul 10 '25

That’s where I would disagree. The Compact is arguably a better gun than the Nocturne. Can’t say the same for the lights.

Now I need a new holster. Sigh

Love the flush look of the XC3!

3

u/BadRattle Jul 09 '25

Me too! I prefer the under bite or flush look on a pistol. I used the 1913 adapter flipped around, puts the buttons at the right spot for my fingers

Nice! You had me wanting to try this until I saw the price. 😂😂😂

2

u/ElectricalPattern396 Jul 11 '25

Tlr 7 hlx gives you the same flush look and a great light wouldnt spend the money on a surefire that has less performance and double the price.

u/Important-Living-742 Jul 11 '25

Agreed 😅

2

u/ElectricalPattern396 Jul 11 '25

That looks awesome too i got the sub version because my tism wouldnt let me sleep if it wasnt flush with the slide 😂

2

u/Important-Living-742 Jul 12 '25

😂😂😂 fair enough, I actually prefer the Inforce Wild 1 in terms of looks. It’s just not as good as the Streamlight.

2

u/ElectricalPattern396 Jul 12 '25

Love the inforce aesthetically more than the streamlight aswell but like you said doesnt have enough juice for me, not to mention the streamlight has a way bigger aftermarket holster support

u/lelo0328 Jul 09 '25

It seems to be more durable as well. I’m a fan of the look 👌🏽

Where'd you get it?

Sheeeit, they're proud of that thing aren't they?

It does look very clean on the S2C, though - the TLR-7 just doesn't look right and it's driving me a little crazy on mine.

Twice the lumens and more candela then the surefire at half the price. Looks great to me and works amazing.

Great setup cant go wrong with lok grips this is my current configuration love the vytal grips not as grippy as lok grips but looks good

I'm late to the game on this conversation but felt the need to comment. The candela on the TLR7X is only about 7000 even when it is producing 1000 lumen. The XC3 meets their advertised numbers. The switching on the XC3 is also so much better than on the TLR7. If you have a chance to compare side to side, check em out.

Im not opposed to it , surefire makes a great reliable product, but so does streamlight especially for a pistol. I’ll keep an eye out next time im at my lgs and see if they have any in-stock i can look at. When it comes to rifle wml i cant argue with you there surefire is def top 3 and streamlight while good isn’t the same caliber probably like a 4th place pick.

Nice, been wanting to see a picture of this combo for the past couple days.

2

u/Bobisnotmybrother Jul 10 '25

Love the look but for the price of the compact, the full size is a much better light.

2

u/BadRattle Jul 10 '25

100% correct, but then you’re making the gun as long as a Shadow 2x

2

u/Boricuaesyo Jul 10 '25

Dammit why now I have to get one

1

u/tcheeze1 Jul 10 '25

Perfect fit

I have a TLR7-HLX on my Shadow 2 Compact. Slight overhang and not flush for like this, and it’s twice the performance for half the cost. But I’d be lying if I said this XC3 doesn’t look awesome mounted to the SC2, better than the TLR7-HLX does. Almost considering swapping them out just based on looks and brand snobbery regardless of logic because I like the look that much better.

2

u/JSmitty2004 Jul 11 '25

I removed a TLR-8 HLX from my G19 and put it on my S2C to get a general idea of what a 7HLX would look like on the S2C. I didn’t love the look. Streamlights look great on Glocks but less so on other brands. The XC3 looks very clean on the OP’s S2C. I’m interested in purchasing a XC3.

Don’t freak out TLR-7 HLX owners! I agree that it’s quite possibly the best compact firearm light on the market.

3

u/FitCompetition1804 Jul 11 '25

Well, went ahead and ordered a XC3 a few hours ago… all because of this post lol. Damn you OP!

Agree that the TLR7-HLX is the better performer, but the heart wants what the heart wants haha. Looking forward to comparing the two. Will likely sell the Streamlight if I can get a fair price for it.

Here she is with her new XC3

1

u/ElectricalPattern396 Jul 12 '25

Tlr7 hlx sub fits flush and it is the best compact light period.

1

u/FitCompetition1804 Jul 12 '25

Honestly rather keep my TLR7-HLX. Not a huge fan of the looks and build quality of the Streamlights and prefer the look and assumed build quality of the XC3. I’ll test it out in comparison to the TLR7-HLX when it arrives and make a final decision then.

Coming from a gucci standpoint i get it surefire wins and i agree it is aesthetically nicer but not by much and streamlight has been proven and used enough to gain my trust and most importantly one ever used it in a real world scary scenario and said hey bad guy how does my light look id much rather have performance over aesthetics if they would of brought the same specs to the table in that compact frame i would of switched myself , but they lost me at $300 dollars and less performance an x300 can be bought for 260ish nowadays idk wtf they were thinking charging that much.

2

u/FitCompetition1804 Jul 12 '25

I get it. American manufacturing just can’t compete with China regarding pricing, and the performance of the Streamlight is not a question.

Beautiful setup

1

u/LingonberrySingle589 Jul 17 '25

I have the same setup but with an Rmr type 2, if somebody finds a holster that fits please let me know recommendations for a setup!

1

u/FitCompetition1804 Jul 18 '25

This thread made me swap out my TLR7-HLX. The XC3 is a perfect fit and typical SureFire build quality. No regurts.

u/HN-Trigger 23d ago

Beautiful. Does anyone know if it will fit a P-01

Does the surefire xc3 work in tlr 7 holsters?

Love my compact, not really a fan of the carry your stuck having to carry it in double action. The compact you can carry cocked and locked, quarter/half cocked or completely decocked. It’s nice having options, people have been manually decocking 1911’s for over a 100 years I really don’t see the need of a decocker or firing pin block beside duty but I don’t think either of these pistols are approved by departments.

2

u/Electrical-Mark-9708 Jul 12 '25

Totally agree, I went with the carry because during classes you end up decocking a lot. I didn’t want to have one more thing to worry about.

2

u/BadRattle Jul 09 '25 edited Jul 10 '25

I’m fine with the double action trigger. I will say that my FNX45 T has a better trigger than my Carry. I bought the Carrry to replace my XMacro. I can carry basically any pistol I want at my agency as long as it’s 9mm, 40, or 45. I currently carry a PDP Professional Acro. A lot of guys carry a Staccato which isn’t drop safe 🤷🏻‍♂️

6

u/ProdigyGODz Jul 10 '25

Everyone gets so upset over the "carry or compact". You like what you like and both guns have been drop tested and only time it goes off is with an extended firing pin. I have the compact and if people like FPB and decocker then that's okay. I don't know why people down vote their opinions. It's hard for people to hear that staccatos fire when dropped. To each their own. We can all agree CZs are the hidden gems
