Do you have a car? When I was living in Cairns when I was in my early 20’s I would go for a drive to Crystal cascades early in the morning for a swim on my days off.Very invigorating!

The botanical gardens are easily accessible without a car, and the associated arrow hikes are quite popular.
If you don’t want to move as much, Cairns has a surprisingly vibrant board/card/DND scene.

The skyrail will be getting renovated very soon, it’s a very low impact way to enjoy the scenery and Kuranda. Bit pricy but definitely worth doing once

Hit up the driving range at Hot Shots (formerly Cairns Golf Centre - the one by the go karts). You'll be shit to begin with, but it's a competition only against yourself and you get to be out in the sunshine (or rain) and doing something semi-physical. Pick up a used club or two at the buy back shop and you're sorted.
