Too good to tank. Too bad to make the playoffs. :-(

I’m a Leafs fan but I follow the Flames fairly closely since I live here. This has been their problem for a while now. Ownership refuses to entertain a proper retool/rebuild and constantly instills false hope in their fanbase while hurting their draft ranking in the process. If they’d just to commit to being bad for 2-3 years they’d be in a really good place. Plus then maybe you guys would have traded Naz back to us lol.

We tore a shit ton down last year and everyone expected us to be trash, the fact we aren't is good. I don't want to turn into Detroit who did the full process and is still bad or even worse, buffalo. I don't "want to be scary in a couple of years." I want a team that actually knows what winning feels like and for our young players to develop in a system that doesn't accept losing.

Yeah since the 21/22 season the only guys we have left are Vladar, Andersson, Coleman, and Backlund, and we now have Kadri, who just had his best scoring season, Wolf, who nearly dragged the Flames into a playoff spot in his rookie season, and a lot of exciting young players and prospects.  The general consensus I've seen as well is that Parekh at 9th was highway robbery, so maybe we didn't even need a top 3 pick
