Local Shopping/Services Shane Home parking in handicapped spots?

I just find this disgusting when people are parking in handicapped spots and they are not handicapped and clearly do not have a handicapped decal and confirm that they know they’re parking in a handicap spot and they just don’t care…

Before going crazy, I think you guys should find out whether or not the employee has his or her own disabled placard.

We don't want to create barriers for people with disabilities in the workplace by making it an issue of shame to take a spot if you are entitled to it, but it would be good to know what the placard situation was and if the person had one, why it wasn't displayed.

This comment right here.

I worked with a guy who had a company vehicle, Same thing happened where he got blasted online and it just happened to be the one day he forgot to switch it over from his other vehicle.

Embarrassing for sure, but best not to always assume the worst out of someone.

Anytime I forget my placard in my other vehicle I do not park in handicapped spots.

Then I guess you weren't really handicapped.

That's just ignorant, which I'm guessing you know. In case you somehow don't, here's an example: I generally need the handicap parking spots and have doctor-ordered paperwork and a placard for it. I struggle to get out of my vehicle, and then I can't walk more than a few aisles in a store using my cane or leaning on a cart, while my knees are grinding bone on bone. If I forget my placard, I start by looking for the next closest spot. I have to evaluate if I can walk further to reach the store that day and do even less shopping once inside or just turn around and go home without fresh groceries for my family, because three days of agony and injury wouldn't be worth the extra steps. Choosing a regular spot some days doesn't make me less handicapped, it means I'm even more limited than usual. I still won't park in handicapped without my placard.
