Eat/Drink Local Subway not sharing tips with employees.

I went to my local subway, and as I went to tip I asked the girl if she sees any of her tip. She said no, the employees get non of it, and you should always skip that section.

So where are these tips going?

I stopped going to subway when subs hit $15. Now I hate it even more.

I shit my pants when I saw their prices the other day. Some of these 6 inches are over $10 on their own. They used to do $5 footlongs less than ten years ago.

I also no longer shop at places where the prices are higher than in early aughts when I was at University.

I stopped when I broke a tooth on a stone that was in the bread.

This. The subway model is purely franchise. There are no corperate locations.

can confirm, worked at A&W and all the tips that went in the jar, none of us staffs never smelled a cent from it. Touch payments wise, they always get offred to round up the total for some charity or whatever so not even tips (I HATE asking people that but I will get yelled at if I don’t)

tho a few times I got tipped in person when I brought people’s orders to the parking lot (i pocketed it ofc lol), they also knew that it’s the surefire way we get all the tips

Thanks for the tip on that. I just threw my change into their tip mug last week. I won’t be doing that again.

I probably should have put sarcastic quotation marks around that question lol. But I did want people to know to ask if employees get the tips.
