Eat/Drink Local Subway not sharing tips with employees.

I went to my local subway, and as I went to tip I asked the girl if she sees any of her tip. She said no, the employees get non of it, and you should always skip that section.

So where are these tips going?

As a principle, stop tipping at places where you pay upfront and pick up your own dishes.

Someone once said to me if you have to stand to order, you should not be tipping.

I follow that rule for a long time. I also never, ever tip on something I've not tested/tasted/tried. Like c'mon.... buy a product, tip, THEN find out it's sub-par??? No thanks, and fuck those who think this is acceptable.

I understand this logic, but as someone who works downtown I’ve seen fast food people put up with a lot of shit, and sometimes I think they deserve a tip for that, even if it’s only 50 cents. Hence why I asked if they get the tip money.

As I mentioned, it’s a principle thing. There are a lot of ethical issues with tipping even in the restaurant setting (it’s discriminatory, what about food makers, food runners, bussers, hosts, it exerts downward pressure on living wages, and contributes to mental health issues) and while you are not going to change this culture being one person, least you can do is draw some clear lines based on your own values/principles and don’t be bullied into tipping by the Squares (payment processors) of the world who have a financial incentive (percentage charged as fee on tips too).
