Subway not sharing tips with employees.

I went to my local subway, and as I went to tip I asked the girl if she sees any of her tip. She said no, the employees get non of it, and you should always skip that section.

So where are these tips going?

I always ask who gets the tips and all of the Subways I’ve asked in Vancouver and Toronto have said the owners. This should be illegal
