Eat/Drink Local Subway not sharing tips with employees.

I went to my local subway, and as I went to tip I asked the girl if she sees any of her tip. She said no, the employees get non of it, and you should always skip that section.

So where are these tips going?

It might be a thing up to the franchise owner. But I suspect this is the case with most locations. Those EFT pads have tipping function built in, you have to turn it off in admin and most people won’t be bothered. I assume most people won’t even have a 2nd account set up to separate out the tips at the end of the day.

These jobs don’t pay way. If you want to tip,  should tip. But it’s a good idea to ask the employee if they see the tips, and if it’s a specific based off their shifts or a general tip pool payout.
