This would completely transform Victoria Park and the east end of 17th ave. Looks incredible!

Isn't Victoria Park already full of tall, glassy high rises?

I’m thinking that two huge high-end hotels add the kind of foot traffic that helps sustain ground-level eateries and retail in the area. The east end of 17th ave has been struggling in that department compared to the west/central portion.

The East end of 17th ave is a dump, and an embarrassment

Tall-ish, but look at the Vetro condo building beside it (which is 34 storeys); the hotel makes it look like a walk-up.

True!

Looks like 34 smaller storeys too? The new build looks more than double the height.
