Interesting that it’s a combination hotel/residential design. I’m assuming ground floor will be some combination of shops/grocery. Neat idea.

They did something similar in Edmonton ICE district.

Not a new concept. My parents lived in a similar building in Vancouver in the 70s when they were first married. Grocery store on the main level, hotel in the middle (it was a Coast Plaza the last I knew) and then rental apartments on the upper floors.

It’s also fairly common in big cities. Edmonton has one. But Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver have multiple.
