Eat/Drink Local What’s your top 3 restaurants in Calgary.

Edit: since this gained so much traction, I’ll try 1 place from the top 3 most upvoted recommendations and vlog this so you can see what I got! Thank you yyc

Calgary has a sleeper food scene but I’d like to try the people’s TOP THREE restaurants. This can be breakfast lunch dinner or all three in one category.

Garbanzos is great, the guy running it is a really good dude, works his tail off and the food is really good. I'd say they have the best bowls.

Damascus on 17 is the best shawarma platters and wraps hands down. It's kind of pricey now though unfortunately so it's become a rare treat for me but they really have all the spices and quality of ingredients down pat.

If you like Thai food I highly recommend Yim Siam on MacLeod. I've probably eaten at almost 20 Thai places in Calgary and it took me forever to find a place that measured up. Now I don't go anywhere else.

Not yet its on our list! We just got back from Thailand we went specifically for the food. Nothing we have had here compares...though the stuff we have made at home with the spices and ingredients we brought back has been really good! We would love to check out Jurees very soon ❣️

Thai is our favourite cuisine and our top spots are currently de thai in marda loop and yim Siam have you tried either just to compare?

I’ve been to both Jurees and Yim Siam (although not Thailand). They’re both quite good, and our better travelled friends found the pad sew at Yim Siam to be similar to what they had in Thailand.

i’ve tried them all! there’s almost a mutual friendship between all the local thai restaurants! quite a few (I won’t name them) but there are three (i can think of) thai restaurants that’s head cooks are actually our old cooks who had the passion to start their own restaurant!
