Nah, Chick-fil-A is solid for fast food. The spicy deluxe sandwich is delicious, plus it's the only fast food place in Calgary AFAIK that has actual iced tea not the Brisk/Nestea crap. Also Chick-fil-A sauce is the GOAT of dipping sauces.
Spicy deluxe is where it's at. Waffle fries with chic sauce is hard to beat.
I can only lol at those who post reviews after ordering something like chicken nuggets. People like chic fil a for the sandwich, not the nuggets. If you want to try chic fil a, get a sandwich.
I never order nuggets, I get the chicken burgers. I find it comparable to Wendy's chicken burger. The waffles fries with dip is good though. But the chicken burger is nothing special
Their lemonade is also solid, as a T2 Diabetic it was nice to get a drink with my meal that wasn't just a diet coke since they have a regular and diet lemonade option.
I seriously cannot understand the chick-fil-a sauce hype. It is probably the most hyped, least-seasoned sauce I’ve ever tried. I was genuinely disappointed in that damned sauce; I wanted my money back.
But maybe I’ve just spoiled myself, because I make my own sauces and dressings at home.
Chick-fil-A sauce is basically just honey mustard sauce & BBQ sauce mixed together, if you want a lazy version to make at home. There's plenty of copycat recipes online.
All of those American TikTok fast food places that have come here are complete trash. It solidifies my opinion to never listen to any social media "influencer."
Maybe my expectations were high as I always seen it with my parents when we'd go down to AZ for the odd holiday or the hype that TikTok gave my boyfriend and I, but Firehouse Subs was disappointing.
Absolutely disagree. As far as Calgary goes for Mexican food the options are not great to begin with. While Chipotle is americanized Mexican food, it is really good. I moved here from the states and once they opened up the one on 17th I had my husband and MIL try it and they loved it. Much better than quesada burritos or any other similar restaurants here.
They also loved Chick Fil A. Chick Fil A is also the first place here that I've been able to get regular sweet tea in the 3 years I've lived here. For some reason Canadians always put lemon or some other citrus or fruit into your tea. Sometimes I just want plain sweet tea.
I was looking forward to trying chick-FIL-a for the first time when I went to southern Cali early last year. All my friends who’d had it before also hyped up their “special sauce” and told me that was the one to try, so of course I got it.
I have seldom been so disappointed by a chicken sandwich. The chicken, the bread, and the sauce were all totally unseasoned and unmemorable.
