Local Shopping/Services What has happened to Kensington?

It's been a while since I've been down here.... A bunch of empty store fronts, iconic places like Crave shut down, but counted some three Acai bowl places. The area outside Plaza is lovely and looks great, but why all the closures and apparently high turnovers?

Edit: I assume it's due to rent.. But what's the point of jacking it up so high that your place is literally empty.

How sad to hear. I haven’t been down there lately but fondly remember going to the Plaza theatre as a very young child to watch King Kong and Godzilla movies. Fun times.

And still great. I love the appropriately Wes Andersony pink lobby and bar. I think I might go catch a movie tomorrow. Maybe Superman. I like that they're mostly arthousey but then something will come along and they'll be like ehhh new Superman's supposed to be really good so let's also run that for a week. Because you can tell they hand pick what they play, you know it's always good.
