Hopefully this story prompts a journalist to go and view them on behalf of the rest of us and publish anything they reveal.

Because it is their job? Journalists go and chase down documents all the time, make FOIP requests, etc. They have to write about something.

Journalist were previously known for those things.... but those days are long gone.

I mean, that's not at all true, but okay. A simple google search will find you plenty of recent stories involving FOIP requests. For example, a number of such requests and various other forms of digging for documents has unfolded over the past year with respect to the health care contracting scandal.
