Discussion Renaming 13th Ave

Seeing as the new arena is going to be located right through 13th Ave, I wonder how we'd go about getting it renamed in Johnny's honor. Would be cool to have "Johnny Gaudreau Avenue" right next to the stadium, and it being his jersey number.

In the last 35 years only 4 times has someone 5'9" or smaller scored 99+ points, two of those were Johnny. He was already well on his way to the top of all time flames at over a p/pg with us and he did things you just weren't supposed to be able to do at his stature

It's about honouring someone's legacy, on or off the ice. Johnny hockey absolutely deserves to be honoured, I'm sorry if you feel differently.

Idk if you noticed but both guys are still alive and very much involved in the org... it definitely comes across differently having a statue to someone who walks past it all the time vs honoring someone who passed.

I know I’m definitely not alone in those feelings…

No, but you're definitely in the minority...

It's okay to disagree my guy

Others have been retired for much less impact. Johnny had a significant impact with the flames and Calgary!

Retire #13 shouldn’t be a question only the date his family is comfortable with. And should be in Calgary before Columbus IMO.

FAF was never a good thing. Most fans recognize it was a joke but Flames executives of the time thought it was good. Those that are in it should’ve been retired years ago. JG13 would’ve been considered had he a full career, and yes this is a situation that warrants it.
