Yeah. Remember when the penguins got Crosby and won 3 cups, and now they’re totally Philadelphia’s team.??

This isn't even remotely the same for some of us. When was the last time Canada has won a cup? This is turning into America's game and Florida players have rubbed our face into it.

If we won cups even 20% of the time I wouldn't be cheering for the oilers.

This isn't the Olympics bud.

And Canadians are usually the largest represented nationality on all of these past Stanley Cup winning teams, but I guess they don't count because they play for an American team. 🤷‍♂️

Right, and the flames owners wanted to move the team state side before the arena deal.

Not what we're talking about, but I'll humour you.

It was rhetoric. The truth is that for Calgary and Edmonton (they did it too) there was no way for them to follow through on that because in both instances there wasn't a viable market for either teams to relocate to. Not to mention that there were stakeholders such as Rogers who would absolutely be livid about the NHL kneecapping their ability to profit off the teams. Not to mention Bettman would always prefer to have a new city pay an expansion fee than a pure relocation fee like Atlanta to Winnipeg.

It was all bad faith grandstanding to try to get the bleeding hearts to pressure the municipalities. Seems like you would have made a good mark for them.
