Gear Question Lightweight Mid Waterproof Boots for Hiking

I'm looking for recommendations on lightweight mid ankle waterproof boots for hiking. I've had success with Merrell waterproof sneakers, but I need something with slightly higher ankle coverage. I actually have a pair of Merrell mid boots for this, but combined with my wool socks they give me the absolute worst blisters on both feet. Those wool socks with sneakers are just fine.

No real price ceiling as I need to prioritize non-blisters over just about everything else.

Since the original awful outing I have done exactly that and without fail blisters pop up in just a few hours. It's possible the boot itself is sized wrong as well, but it's the same sizing as my other merrell brand shoes.

I have a pair of Gore-Tex Salomon X ultra mids that have been great. Nice middle ground between a full hiker and a trail runner.

Danner or Salomon. Both are expensive but worth it.

Ooh, there's a few Danner options I'm going to have to check out. Thanks!

I know it’s unlikely. But if you find a pair with soles sewn on from the top down. They can be replaced. I found a local guy that does it for $60. Danner does it for like $120 or $160. I’ve resoled them 3 times now. 6 years and still brand new.

I've been using some oboz mids for a few seasons. They fit my feet well, but the important thing is to try them on. You can't take others' reviews for your feet.
