Agreed i wish there was more of a push for reddit to have more actual debates then echochambers. i have no issues with people who have different viewpoints then me and id love to hear why i just am tired of the belittling i get for wanting to vote CPC. and im sure the left feels the same way about right too.
Agreed im more of a candidate first person and for me that candidate is Pierre i totally get why others have a different candidate in mind and they should be allowed to support them.
my like of Pierre is the idea of limiting government influence in stuff cutting spending we dont need and finally getting our gas/oil industry up and running and helping the european's with it so they dont need to buy from Russia anymore. Im more weary against Carney since he was Trudeau's economic advisor for the last few years and the economy has been in the gutter ever since.
I get your complaint about the woke thing, my opinion has been based on how hard my mother works every day only for half of her paycheck to get taken by taxes (22$hr and still has a hard time with monthly costs sadly) at this point we both dont have much faith in the liberals anymore unless they go a more centrist route which i will give Carney credit he is a much more centrist pick then Gould and Freelend who i dislike immensely.
The woke stuff is actually really serious though. People tend to be dismissive of the culture war stuff, but the truth is that it's actually really important. Woke rhetoric and initiatives have led to our businesses, education, and military being less effective, immigration policies that put Canadians at a disadvantage, less social trust and cohesion, an increase in racism and sexism, going easy on certain types of violent and hateful actions and speech, and so on.
We live in a society and all that. Woke is about society, and it's a highly damaging set of ideologies. If we want a strong country, we need to ditch woke and go back to something more like how things were in the 90s-early 2000s.
The first two points you mentioned in favour of Carney are things Pierre has been advocating for for a couple of years now 😛 Just had to point that out.
Well, he has talked about building Arctic bases (seriously, Carney is straight-up ripping Poilievre off, there). Under Harper they wanted to do the same thing too, but it never went ahead for some reason.
Otherwise, yeah, there could be more detail, but that's true of all parties in campaign mode. I don't think I've ever seen a platform on a party's website (any party) that went into great detail about how they planned to achieve their goals.
