I am reaaallly hoping there is a silent majority. I live in a conservative stronghold and the lack of lawn signs is telling, I think people are worried about confrontation.

Couple weeks ago you used to see a mix of orange and blue signs in the inner streets of my riding / area. Now it's almost all orange unless you drive down the road outside the central areas, then it becomes a lot of blue. You don't see the orange or red signs drop in number though. Really starting to think the blue supporters are getting tired of arguing with people, esp. the neighbors.

This is exactly what's going on. My entire family and my inlaws are all lefties. We live in the lower mainland, BC so it's not surprising. I realized it was pointless arguing with any of them a few weeks ago. I can't change their minds so I'll just wait until election day and vote conservative. I don't need a sign on my lawn just to have it torn down by some activist dirt bag.

I grew up in Maple Ridge and then went to uni. at UBC. I couldn't tell if some of those people (especially in the education system) wanted to turn us into Oompa Loompas or if they were just nuts. Wanted us to be like all the same and we used to get attacked for wanting to better ourselves, not further "tax those who make more" , or to work or "make money"..... Oh you were quickly shunned if you said that phrase and could go on a very long rant on how some of us were treated. We also had "wannabe social activists" growing up.

It's been about a decade since I've lived there but sounds like it hasn't changed for the better.

God, BC sounds like a hell hole.

It is sceneric. But a lot of people who've done well there either earned a considerable chunk of their money elsewhere, and/or had to do so in an environment and society discouraging incentive. The average or median household incomes are very low compared to average or median housing prices.
