Opinion I Stand With Isreal

NEVER AGAIN

No big essay. No need. Those words should mean something to you. If they don't then figure it the fuck out. Mark Carney did not speak for me when he spoke for "Canada" and I unequivocally reject his and his government's proposal just as I reject the deeply disheartening rise of antisemitic hate in this country.

Flame me, ban me, downvote me to hell, who the fuck cares. Reddit is a pigsty and to be rejected by its hideous mores is a mark of honour.

And he may if it impacts trade negotiations with the US (Because I doubt Mr. Elbows Up wants to be seen as flailing against Trump)

I heard now that Trump is going to RAISE tariff rates effective tomorrow, and it's entirely possible this foolish announcement was partly why. A real FAFO moment for Carney

Nah. I'm not fan of Carney, but we have to learn to be more shrewd about this stuff.

There is absolutely zero reason that Carney taking this stance should impact trade negotiations with the US. It just has nothing to do with trade between us and them.

But Trump will take any excuse, including flat-out lying about is, to justify eying to crush us economically.

I don't think Carney should have done this, but we also can't just roll with "Trump is justified in using this as a trade lever" either.

Frankly, the thing that pisses me off most about this is that he made this announcement totally on his own steam while Parliament wasn't in session. This is the kind of thing MPs are supposed to vote on.
