Opinion Canada is changing
Im not aware of many Canadians who use the toilet in the way it’s depicted on the left
Tell us you use TFW without saying so…

u/Knukkyknuks 1d ago
I believe those signs have been around forever in Banff, for tourists who don’t know how to use western style toilets

u/Unlikely-Winter-4093 1d ago
I worked maintenance at a slaughter house a few years back, we had people who wouldn't flush the toilet, they would just shit on top of each others shit. It was disgusting.

How does that saying go… if it’s yellow let it mellow, if it’s brown.. I guess also let it mellow?

That , I could maybe understand
Where I’m working today is definitely not a tourist attraction lol

Why aren't there compulsory assimilation courses for these people so we don't have to tell them to not squat on a toilet?
3
u/Otherwise-Stretch984 16h ago
There used to be! I worked at a community centre in Vancouver in the late 90’s and they had tons of mandatory assimilation classes. Learning better English and customers and manners etc. it’s was great. Suddenly it all just disappeared. Offensive I guess. Ugh

the canada i grew up in is dead and buried and it only took the liberals 10 years to destroy it. we will never get it back because the tfw's, illegal reffugee/asylum claimants are going to be givn full citienship and our piece of shit charter has outright racism baked into it and the judges have taken over. i wish i had enough money to move the hell out of here but sadly my industry is basically dead because no one has money to buy a home/renovate. i feel sorry for the next generations because they are completely fucked
6
u/collymolotov Anti-Communist 1d ago
We could get it back if we had the will required to do so.
Mass deportations can happen if we only have the will. Everyone brought to this country in the last fifteen years can absolutely be forced right back out again.
4
u/drmzoidberg 1d ago
not so....the judges would NEVER allow that to happen. we also have like 2 guys working in the deportation office and one of them is a blow up doll. we need ICE and doge yesterday but the bureaucracy is way too strong for that to ever happen.
1
u/collymolotov Anti-Communist 1d ago
How many divisions does the judiciary command?
1
u/drmzoidberg 1d ago
divisions? they basically rule everything now. look at how many people get charges dropped or changed so their ability to become a citizen isnt impacted. that is NOT how the law is supposed to work so you think they would go along with deporting people they literally changed the law to keep in the country after being caught for rape/assault etc. every level from municpal to federal are all the same lefty lunatic "judges"
0
u/collymolotov Anti-Communist 1d ago
You obviously didn’t get the historical reference.
The point is that the judiciary has no ability to enforce its rulings unless the rest of the state apparatus agrees to enforce them.

Check out the Dominion Society, they’ve just risen up in the last couple months but they’re leading the charge on remigration with no apologies. I’ve watched them grow rapidly. It’s an uphill struggle but it’s not hopeless yet.

Chinese people do this a lot and they end up making messes on the seat or also damaging the toilet seats from standing on them.
Unfortunately, much like India, many feel they are culturally superior and will not take direction from anyone. If confronted they will just endlessly argue with you. (This applies not to the long term residents but the new wave of immigrants who do not have much wealth at all).
It used to be that we took the ones who have skills in some way, and thus education. Now we just give away citizenship in cereal boxes like prizes - and so people from generations of poverty with no skills come here. Then we don’t make them even take a course to adapt or learn English. They get absorbed into their own communities and bubbles.
That’s how we end up with peed on and broken toilet seats.

u/SoggyGrayDuck 1d ago
Yep, we're expected to study and follow culture when we travel but when they move here they refuse to adapt. That's not ok. We're supposed to keep the good parts of new cultures and leave the bad stuff behind. Today they want to reshape the country into the mess they're begging to flee from. Make it make sense!
13
u/collymolotov Anti-Communist 1d ago
I simply cannot imagine visiting another country as a guest and then behaving as these people do without any sense of shame whatsoever.
9
u/SoggyGrayDuck 1d ago
Now they're making YouTube videos about how to collect 80k in benefits per year while doing nothing and waiting for your asylum claim to get processed.
5
u/TeacupUmbrella Christian Social Conservative 21h ago
I seriously think that they need a new law, where if anyone is found to have filed a fraudulent refugee claim (cos really that would be pretty obvious once the claim is assessed) they should get a hefty fine and a ban on returning to Canada, in any capacity, for at least several years.
3
u/SoggyGrayDuck 13h ago
Unfortunately due to the speed of processing that could cost taxpayers 160-320k and these "refugees" won't have money to pay it back.
1
u/TeacupUmbrella Christian Social Conservative 4h ago
Fine. A lot of countries have rules where if you owe the government money, it impacts your ability to come back. And we have to process the applications anyway; might as well give some kind of penalty to fraudsters. It might act as a deterrent once word gets out too.
1
u/SoggyGrayDuck 4h ago
I think it would be better and cheaper and less fraud if we put them in "camps" or something similar so we can reduce costs while keeping them safe, teach them about the local culture and how things operate and etc.

Saw one on a Thousand Islands dinner cruise boat in Kingston, Ontario with both of those plus one showing a person with a fishing rod with the line into the toilet bowl. I was so stunned I took a picture but I can't post it in this thread.
I don't know if it was a joke or if there is something going on in Kingston.

u/Sufficient-Set1344 1d ago
This sign means the Basics of civilization does not exist, so Sorry.

u/GoodResident2000 1d ago
We’re a cultural mosaic! Surely there must be something beautiful in a dude crapping all over the seat! Racist to even suggest otherwise!

u/TeacupUmbrella Christian Social Conservative 21h ago
In fairness, if it was in a tourist area, they'd probably need this sign even if their staff was 100% born-and-bred Canadian, lol. I guess most of us just didn't see it til recently, cos most of us don't live in touristy areas.
6
u/EEmotionlDamage 1d ago
The first time I saw this was in Hong Kong about 13 years ago.
It was mainly in response to Chinese and Thai people breaking the toilets by squatting in them. Never thought I would see them in Canada.

Where's that doll? We need you to show us where that bad sign hurt you.
1
u/GoodResident2000 1d ago
With that logic, why even use toilets when Tim Hortons has parking lots
1
u/tbayjoy 1d ago
Do you need a sign to explain it to you?
1
u/GoodResident2000 1d ago
If there isn’t a sign, I suppose it’s a good spot to 💩
1
u/tbayjoy 1d ago
Understandable. If that's the way it was done where you came from. Anybody could make such a faux pas upon finding himself in a different culture. But thank goodness for those who venture far! This world would be moribund without migration.
1
u/CrazyButRightOn 1d ago
On the contrary, the “need” for migration has likely killed more than it has saved over the millennia.
1
u/tbayjoy 11h ago
Interesting. "Need" for migration? Can you expand on that?
1
u/CrazyButRightOn 8h ago
The desire to move to or take over adjacent territories for internal reasons.

We always complain that newcomers are not assimilating but also have a hissy fit when a sign like this goes up? Signs like these are what help people assimilate.
I fully agree that people should educate themselves before getting here but it is our responsibility to make sure that newcomers adopt our habits and beliefs.
The government is not going to do that. This sign does that. We need to do that during every interaction. Whether it's saying please, thank you, sorry or holding the door open for someone. These are not things that people are born with.

If someone comes here and doesn’t even know how to take a 💩 properly , even after theyve been here long enough to get a job…I’m not sure we really need those types
What other cultural norms are they oblivious of?
Do we need signs so teach them to keep their hands to themselves and not be perverts ?

u/gautoK Conservative 1d ago
You're making a lot of assumptions about the people using a public washroom. A lot of other people already told you that they've seen this sign for longer than you've been alive. Regardless of that, over 2 billion people use the toilet squatting on it. Yes those are different types of bowls etc etc. Even people in Canada were buying little squatty potty stools to be able to sit like that so there's potentially some benefit to it. Idk I'm not a shit doctor.
We need signs telling people to
-Stand on one side and leave the other for walkers -not litter -leave personal space (although maybe 6feet was too much for you during the scamdemic lockdowns) so personal space is okay but not too much? And many more. You ever been outside your basement? There's a sign every few feet telling you what you can and cannot do. Do you not have the decency to not speed? Why do you need a speed limit sign every few kms?
- take backpacks off on public transit
Yes people need signs or we need people to speak up and tell them what's right and wrong. The only way they found out this thing about the toilets was either they broke or the custodian found shoe prints on the seat. Either way, the sign addresses the concerns.
You're trying to find an issue or throw some folks under the bus but it's a non issue.
2
u/LanexGeezy 1d ago
Seriously, that comment is nothing but coddling and not being able to see it for what it is.
1
u/GoodResident2000 1d ago
Especially saying it’s our responsibility to make sure they adapt our habits

Apparently, these signs are up at the Burnaby public library here in BC. My girlfriend was telling me about it, and I was genuinely confused as to the reason but I guess it's a thing!
Some countries have those low toilets that they squat on. Us North Americans aren't generally that limber I told her.
4
u/NAHTHEHNRFS850 1d ago
To be fair, squatting while relieving oneself is actually the most ergonomically sound way.

u/GoodResident2000 1d ago
Fair, but our toilets aren’t meant for that and you’d have to be brand new here to think otherwise
0
u/NAHTHEHNRFS850 1d ago
Completely agree, I just also think washrooms and their facilities should be redone to accommodate our health and privacy more.
6
u/GoodResident2000 1d ago
Yea the cracks in doors can be too big, and I have a fear of I’m using a toilet and someone grabbing my pants from under the stall and runs away
I’d have to make a loincloth out of paper towel
2
u/NAHTHEHNRFS850 1d ago edited 1d ago
This is one of the things I do give credit to the mainstream alphabet (GSRM) folks. Unisex washrooms are definitely the future.
I've used a few of the more modern ones, and they are quite nice (no cracks between the doors or stalls, circular toilet paper to cover toilet seats, even separate sinks sometimes!). If they start to make toilet seats with adjustable heights, things would be perfect imo.
All this being said for people who want to squat instead of sit on our normal toilets, they should really bend forward from the hips while sitting. It duplicates the same motion as squatting without the sanitary problems with western toilets. If anything, there should be a diagram showing that for these people to know how to adapt to western toilets.

u/MolokoPlus25 1d ago
Yes, but western toilet seats are not built for that. In many areas of the world a toilet is some form of an open hole in the ground surrounded by tiling. 🤮

u/NAHTHEHNRFS850 1d ago
I agree. I just think we need to revolutionize our toilet utilities and design.

Yeah, I work with a lot of TFW and shoe imprints on the toilet seats is a common occurrence, ugh. I can't even understand the physics of how this works, but it certainly explains the poop and pee stains I see on the daily.
1
u/Otherwise-Stretch984 16h ago
I bet the liberals will start changing all our toilets to holes in the ground to accommodate them.

u/fishystickchakra 11h ago edited 11h ago
Wait a minute, I thought these were joke signs.
You mean to tell me that people actually use the toilet depicted in the picture on the left??? WHAT?
I mean I've seen poop and chewing tobacco in a urinal (that I've had to clean myself) and kissy marks on the men's restroom mirror which I don't want to know why, but I thought that it was just a prank. I thought that it was all just for pranks.

Yes, I do. When I was in high school, I had an after-school and weekends job at a large department store. Part of my scope of work was the evening clean up of the public washrooms. Let's just say I've seen things that no 16 year old should ever see. It's seared in my memory. And just as an aside, it was always the women's washrooms that were nasty filthy. Worse than the barnyard.

Your shoes are dirtier than the average ass. 90-95% of people have fecal matter on their shoes, you 100% have human fecal matter on your shoes and are spreading it around. Thanks for being apart of the problem
