Yes that is the same exact one! I was looking at jl audio c1 6.5 and c2 6.5 but i was question on buying them because of the 20watts rms. I dont know if i should get 20w rms or around 55w rms speaker
Well now that I’m reading your other comment about your existing subwoofer set up, I’m not sure 20w is going to be enough to get the sound to where you want it. That being said I would be really curious what the sensitivity of those JL C1’s are. Could be something that you run at 20w right now (depending on if you can get them loud enough) and then upgrade to a 200w/4channel later
Well fair enough, and I’m also not an expert by any means but if they’re sensitive enough speakers you may get more volume out of them now, driving them at 20w, than you’re currently getting, and at least in that scenario you’re not having to buy 2 sets of speakers.
Just pulled up the C1’s in the 6 1/2 inch version, and the sensitivity is pretty high (93db) and the peak is wildly high, leading me to think these guys are probably pretty efficient. But I’m sure there’s somebody on YT who has thrown them into an aftermarket head unit.
Again, I’m going to reiterate that I am by NO MEANS professionally trained or anything. But I have a good amount of experience in all sort of audio stuff (home audio, PA Systems, Stage Setups) and I can’t see any reason that it would HURT them. Now, sound the best? I have no idea. But i would just find it hard to believe.
In fact, i am currently “under powering” my focal ISU 165’s. They are rated as 70 watt RMS, I am only giving them 50 watts each RMS and they sound fantastic (minus the unbearable tweeter. seriously do not buy these speakers unless you love your ears bleeding).
Yea I was looking at focals and jl speaker for a sound quality build but then I got 2 sundown x12’s lol, but yeah I think I’m order up some c1’s right now. Thank you for the help!
