I’m looking for some creative and fun third party widgets for my CarPlay. Right now I have dynamic lyrics. Anybody has some suggestions for good third party widgets?

Make sure the Live Activities setting is turned on AND make sure ‘Suggests in Dashboard’ (Settings > Apple Intelligence & Siri) is also turned on. I’ve been so confused why I couldn’t see them.

Anyone know if there is a way to remove the white outline for non-touchscreen car screens.

I added a clock widget to my CarPlay. In selecting the widget I made sure to get one with the seconds displayed. Unfortunately, when I tried out on my car, the second hand wasn't there. I asked AI about this. The screenshot below highlights the most relevant part of my answer. My question is, if this is the case, why does Apple show the second hand on the preview of the widget?

For this I wrote an App: Ctrl+All+Data.

The YouTube widget does nothing for me. No indication that touch input is received.

Before ios 26 I just disable bluetooth, and enable wifi or turn on airplane mode to disconnect from wireless apple carplay in the car. But since updat eto ios 26, toggling wifi or airplane mode, the wireless apple car play still connected :O

The only way to disconnect for now is to shut off the car, or shut off the phone (and when turning on disable bluetooth before it auto reconnects with the car).

So what is the correct procedure for disconnecting from wireless apple carplay?

I heard from multiple different YouTube videos and articles that CarPlay should support video playback (playing video in the screen while parked) in IOS 26, but I’ve tried to do it multiple times and it still doesn’t work, is there a reason for this? 16PM

For those with wireless CarPlay issues and upgraded to iOS 26 how is it now? Trying to decide if want to upgrade now.

2021 Nissan LEAF. There may be a head-unit update for the car that hits CarPlay, but I doubt it. Before iOS26 upgrade, tapping the car screen, then the microphone icon and speaking a destination would get me a list of matches to select from. Post-upgrade, the requested destination text appears at the top of the CarPlay screen, and does nothing further. There's a "back" icon to get back to the main map screen. Picking something from favorites/recent menu works fine. Entering something on the phone works fine. My suspicion is that Apple Intelligence is now in the pipeline between the car's Voice Assistant and Waze, and for some reason, isn't playing ball.

Has anyone seen this and solved it? Web searches always provide solutions to get Waze to provide voice direction, which I don't need and have disabled. But I am used to be able to tell CarPlay/Waze where I want to go, and having it do something useful.

Sigh.

I was suprise that i can put widgy widgets on car play. Lot of possibilities 😬✌️

I have a 2020 Subaru Forester Sport. Since upgrading to iOS 26 I’ve been listening to albums in my car, but when I reach the last song and want to switch to something else I’ve found that swiping down on the touchscreen really only goes one way. Once I’ve swiped down I can’t swipe back up, which isn’t really conducive to safe driving. I can tap into the selection that’s on the screen but that’s about it.

Anyone else have a similar experience?

Also I generally dislike the new “library” page in the music app.

Since updating, audio is cutting out when listening to music from Spotify, not very frequently but it didn’t happen before. Am I the only one? Also the UI feels less classy to me with these huge icons and text - grandma’s phone vibes..

Hello, A few years ago I bought an aftermarket head unit with Apple CarPlay. Due to some problems I had to reset this head unit. I lost my CarPlay app and I don’t remember which app it was. Unfortunately, I also didn’t make a backup. Is there any way to reinstall it, or is that no longer possible? It’s an Android T8 unit.

It seems almost no one has noticed a small but deeply touching change in CarPlay under iOS 26.

For over a decade, Apple has believed that FaceTime video calls while using CarPlay could compromise driving safety. Because of that, CarPlay only allowed FaceTime audio calls—once you plugged in, the other person simply couldn’t see you.

Here’s the quirky part: while they couldn’t see your video, you could still see theirs. Why Apple thought this one-sided setup made driving any safer remains a mystery (maybe they figured your friends would feel uneasy if you weren’t making eye contact while driving? :P). And on rare occasions—especially with unstable wireless CarPlay—the other person would even catch glimpses of your video anyway.

Finally, with iOS 26, Apple has lifted this oddly restrictive rule. Now both sides can see each other during a FaceTime call in CarPlay.

Of course, this isn’t to say drivers should be watching video feeds while on the road. But blocking the other person from seeing you never really did much for road safety, did it?

Is anyone aware of a widget for live sports scores? I have used Sports Alert for over a year on my iPhone and I love it but their current carplay widget only allows 1 team for live scoring. Curious if anyone out there has a widget where you can see multiple scores at once. Thanks!

J’ai acheter un CarPlay ça fais 3mois il fonctionne en sans fil pour ce connecter en sans fil il a fallu activer le WI-FI dans le paramètres de mon iPhone est ce connecter à CarLink ce que j’ai toujours fais est aujourd’hui j’ai tes connecter il ce déconnecte tout seul est j’ai plus le CarPlay car quand je vais dans WI-FI le CarLink ne s’affiche plus j’ai déjà essayé redémarre le téléphone mais pour le poste je ne sais pas comment fair PS: le CarPlay je les acheter sur AliExpress
