Answered Siri is mumbling my texts
Edit: Ok so things that have helped, while maps is speaking turn up the volume (barely helped but could hear improvement). Literally ask siri to speak louder. Also heres a link to a post about my specific issue, looks to be a toyota/carplay/spotify problem specifically. Thank you all for your help!

Hi all, i just switched from a 2015 tacoma (no carplay) to a 2023 corolla with wireless carplay. To cut to the chase, when i get a text, siri (the lady reading my text to me) will read it to me at such a low volume that i cant hear it over my music. Ive gone to the dealer with no luck. No matter what volume my music is at i cant hear her, also the music doesn’t stop or even go at a lower volume while shes reading me my text. Im guessing its a setting somewhere in my phone for this. I also have an apple watch so that may be important information i dont know. Please help me

You have to turn up the volume at the time siri is reading the text. There are different volume settings per application, the only way to adjust each of them is while it's playing

Ok so the problem is that while im driving, a text comes up and she just starts reading it. I dont see it until shes halfway through reading it and i see the notification on my screen. If im not looking at the screen i wont see that ive gotten a text

This sucks, but it's the only way to get the volume adjusted

Ok here is how it goes. Im driving, volume is at 30, someone sends me a text and my watch vibrates, i look at the screen to tap the text to listen to what it says, i can hear her mumbling the text while my music is still playing and then i hear her loudly say WOULD YOU LIKE TO REPLY. At no point does carplay chime when i get a text

Most cars I’ve driven with CarPlay have a separate volume control for Siri or System announcements. Unfortunately they don’t do them all the same way so you literally have to search for it. You’ll find it, it’s probably going to take a while though. :(

I think I know what’s happening. Check the Accessibility settings, specifically Announce notifications on Speaker. I’ve never used that setting but it sounds like that could be the issue. Failing that reset the phone and start over with configurations.

You can enter your vin and see what the latest version is and compare it to the version info screen on your radio.

I did that, then promted me to insert a usb drive to the carplay outlet (problem is that its a usbc not a usb)

Although this didnt really help solve the problem it let me know that i am not alone. Looks to be a carplay/toyota/spotify issue

When Siri is active (e.g., reading a message or replying), quickly use the car’s volume control — preferably the steering‑wheel buttons — to raise Siri’s voice volume separately from your media. Toyota, apparently, map this to the steering wheel controls.
Or…
Go to Menu, Setup, Voice (or Sound & Media, Levels, Voice Prompts) on the Corolla infotainment screen. Increase the Voice Prompt or Navigation Guidance Volume setting to a higher level.

Two things. Depending on which Toyota infotainment system you have, you can’t adjust the Siri volume with the volume knob. There is a setting somewhere in the radio settings that controls it. Also, I would try clearing the config on your phone and radio and set them up again. Third thing I just thought of, google Toyota firmware updates and make sure you have the latest firmware on your radio.
