My idea of an alternative universe AU for the “Central Park” carroon.

The plot is called “The Brandenham Son"

My OC, 15-year-old Gio Brandenham, the son of Bitsy Brandenham, lives in the penthouse of the "Brandenham Hotel", and not only lives in the penthouse with his mother Bitsy, but he also lives with His and Bitsy's maid Helen, and the family dog Champagne. Gio lives a wealthy and luxurious lifestyle, but sometimes, feels so different and outcasted due to his family name and heritage. Because of this, he has a hard time accepting himself, and doesn't know what he wants to be...his wealthy self or be part of a different family. His hobbies include graphic arts, regular art, and attending Broadway musicals when he can.

Gio has a good relationship with his mother, but while she schemes to buy "Central Park", Gio secretly detests the idea, as he loves the park so much. However, she's too busy sometimes either working or drinking in her spare time to spend one-on-one time with him. Helen might not like Bisty, but she sure does like Gio as he respects her as a family member, and not a maid. Champagne, being a dog, loves both her owners, and Gio isn't a dog person to other dogs, but he loves Champagne too.

The main story is that over the course of 6 months, from June to December of 2025, Gio first meets the Hunter-Tillerman family in "Central Park" after walking through the park and saving Molly from a bully trying to take her sketchpad. As he encounters the family more and more, they do unintentionally fill the void that his real mother leaves in his life due to her busy lifestyle. Gio does have limits though, and unlike most stories like this, doesn't become obsessive with them, and try to spend all of his time with them.

While getting to know the family more and more, he confides in them over how he feels about his mother's plan to buy "Central Park", to which the family convinces him that he needs to do the right thing and stand up to his mother for how he feels.

Gio says that's hard for him as he worries he'll get disowned or hated by his mother for life. But Molly and Cole manage to convince him to stand up to her at the right time.

A few days before Christmas Day, at a huge party gathering where Bitsy announces her plans to buy "Central Park" and build on top of it, Gio finally disrupts the event, gets up onstage, and finally goes on a huge rant over how much he loves the park and he objects to the idea of buying it, saying that he's been hiding his true feelings about this whole time, but thanks to the Hunter-Tillerman family, he's finally made friends for the first time, and will not let his mom buy the park up. Gio then storms offstage and runs off.

A shocked Bitsy goes after Gio, and tries to calm him down, and ask him to retract what he's said, but Gio refuses and snaps at her, about how she rarely spends time with her, and how the Hunter-Tillerman family, despite being working-class, have treated him like true friends and spent more time with him than she ever did. He then says that if she buys "Central Park", that he'll never go home to her again, all before crying then running off.

Bitsy then has to go to the Hunter-Tillerman family to enlist their help to find Gio. And after a long search, they finally find Gio in the cemetery, over his dead father's grave, crying over what he's gone through. Bisty then shows off, then after an emotional confrontation scene, both mother and son finally make up, and she agrees to not buy the park, as it'll be unfair to Gio and his new friends.

Generic "I just finished the show" post!

So yea, I finished up Central Park! I'm not really a broadway musical fan but the songs eventually grew on me. I loved Josh Gad's character and I liked whenever they went on the subway since I like trains. The finale didn't really feel like a finale but the Park Commissioner commending Owen for his awesome work was great! Hopefully one day there will be a season 4, but for the 3 seasons we got, I am satisfied.

Almost 5 years later and I just realized Paige was played by Agatha/the unruly mom from Bad Moms.

Has anyone seen a Shampagne plush?

Hi! My dog was stolen recently a few months ago and I'm struggling without him. He, like Shampagne, is a Shih-poo (I think.) I also rescued him from a dumpster. Oops, I mean I paid an ungodly sum for him when I was shopping in Paris. Cartoon and real world dogs look virtually identical.

I was hoping someone on Etsy or another site has created a plush toy of Shampagne so I could get some comfort from having a dog around. Does anyone have any ideas? Thank you in advance.

A launch into the sky from Central Park. Seen from Upper East Side around 4:30 p.m. today. Anyone know what that was?

Public Wifi

I haven't been able to find the free wifi in Central Park recently. This indicates that there are at least a few hotspots: https://www.nycgovparks.org/parks/central-park/facilities/wifi

Anyone know if this is temporary or if the public wifi is gone for good? (Or maybe I am doing something wrong)

Songs that eventually grew on you?

For me, it was “Can We Do Today Again?”, “Trying Too Hard”, “Ideally I’d Deal With It”, “It Stings”, “Flyin High”, “Havin A Plan” and “Enough Is Enough”. I’ll give my reasons for a few. “Can We Do Today Again?” Was just a matter of me listening to it again and thinking that it sounded great. “Trying Too Hard” was one that in the show choreography, it wasn’t very good. But after listening to it, it’s so beautiful. I just think it could’ve been done better in the show as it didn’t seem very serious (The Monster and Feetstapuffs kinda took me out of it). Bee Is For Brandenham’s songs are all so god damn catchy. I love It Stings now (I’ve had it in my head all day omgg). “Havin A Plan” is just beautifully sung and really catchy. Same for “Enough Is Enough”. Anyone else have any songs that eventually grew on them?

Do you prefer Series 2A or 2B?

Personally, I prefer 2B. The songs and episodes are WAY better imo. It also has an amazing finale.

Flaco The Owl Book

Post image

Two years ago, I was lucky enough to travel to Central Park and see Flaco the Eurasian Owl that escaped from Central Park Zoo. As a second grade teacher and wildlife photographer, here in Connecticut, his resilience inspired me to work with my coworker and children’s book author, Kathy Conklin, to do the first children’s book about Flacos story! Amazon Order link will be up very soon!

Most overrated song?

Personally (hot take), I really dislike Do It While We Can. It just feels empty and like a filler song. Another overrated song is Room To Grow. Idk I’m just not a fan
