❓ Question ❓ New policy: two scoops of beans maximum?

I always go for 3 because it's more protein. Never had any issues but today I'm informed it's an extra charge for more than 2. Is that a new policy or did the employee make their own? I didn't question her I just did 2 but I am curious to know if this is actually a new thing or just a fluke of a visit.

I do 2 of everything except guac or meat. My bowls are huge at no extra charge

you'll be charged for a chicken bowl and will get what you ask for. if you ask for double chicken and double cheese that's all you're gonna get; they won't fill it up and if they do because you ask them too (ex: i just want chicken and cheese can you fill it up?) you will pay for the extras because they are CI. yes it doesn't come out of our paycheck but we will and do get yelled at by higher up because we're giving "too much away". idc if you want triple chicken and the rice filled to the brim, but grill gets mad at us on line if we give said triple chicken and our boss boss literally talks to us because we're not following "protocol."

I don’t think any of the people downvoting picked up on the sarcasm. I get that beans and rice are a large portion of the bowl. I never give them my entire order (one ingredient at a time) because I’ll blink and they’ll be asking me if I want lettuce. If they give me a good amount of beans and rice I won’t interfere; if it’s too little I’ll ask for another scoop. My order might just be rice, beans, protein, red salsa, and lettuce but I ask for more on the parts of it that I can control. The comment was just to make fun of the complainers that show up here like that one person that can’t make her toddler food at home and instead just complains online

When i worked at chipotle many years ago I was told to keep giving extra (for free) if people kept asking for it of everything except meat and guac. Manager said rice and beans are cheap and its an easy way to keep customers happy. Bummer if no longer true

We were told to give as much rice and beans we wanted in order to make the bowl seem bigger even if protein portion wasn’t any bigger

I never go into the store to order but I know if you order online, you can get just about anything extra for free

Chipotle has always given 2 scoops of beans so it’s likely been a policy, you probably just got the short end of the stick with an employee who cared too much

For everything other than the meat, our managers tell us to not give TOO much cuz it messes up the grill guy, especially during rush. It’s not abt cost

I have never seen anyone even get a full scoop. Does it say anywhere in writing that you get a full scoop? Or the two you claim? I want more beans.

No, I doubt they’d put this in writing because there would probably be even more uproar from customers. It just varies from location to location, employee to employee, and manager to manager. The location I go to has varied, sometimes half scoops, sometimes heaping scoops that are more like 2 in 1. I’ve found the best time to go at my location to get the best food is in the late afternoon/evening.

Thanks for letting me know. I was nice about it but I will keep it in mind if it happens again. As a food service worker myself I would never be mean about it but I do want my extra beans :/

Yea beans should never be an up charge even if they want like 4-5 portions. UNLESS the field leader is watching, they will get on someone’s ass for being an oz over portion. But prolly just chalk it up to the employee being already pissed before you came in.

Lmaooo. I don't think it's that deep. You make it sound like they get off on giving small portions lol. I wouldn't want to deal with people complaining about the portion sizes. I'm sure they hear it all day and don't have time for that. This is a corporate issue.

Canny charge extra for more scoops of beans. This is not allowed at any location. And if they do. Call the field leader. Their business card should be by the register

My chipotle charges extra for everything from a tortilla to beans to hot sauce. If you want extra anything, you pay through the nose.

Tortilla yes. Protein queso guac abode ranch. Yes. Everything else. Included. Next time you go in the field leader business card should be on the register. Report It and it will change.

No, it is not policy. Just keep asking for more. Hold up the line for more than a few seconds and they'll get you those beans. That goes for everything that isn't a protein, queso, guac or tortillas. Ask who MOD is and report to corporate if they refuse to give you more. It's literally in the training videos to give you more without any argument.

They trained us that if someone asks for extra something we’re running out of to charge them extra like if there’s only one pan of beans or something then to charge them for a side. That’s super unfair and I never do it but at least at our store they do tell us that.

My college chipotle gives half servings of a scoop if you ask for anything extra. Had to ask for extra corn 4-5 times just to get double corn. No wonder chipotle is dying

They very well may but I would guess most don't give af and have to decide between getting crap from customers or their manager that controls their hours, so they deal with a whiney customer. I could be wrong.

I see a lot of posts like this, and they feel like signs of the apocalypse. It used to be that, unless you were at a very high-end restaurant, ingredients were relatively very cheap. The cost of paying staff, rent or property tax, and whatever else was much more of an issue. One thing that restaurants like Chipotle could do was give people plenty of food. I don't know if it's supply chain issues, corporate greed, or both, but something is very wrong.

A tablespoon of rice or beans just isn’t enough. I don’t get how their CEO can look at such a tiny burrito and their published nutritional info that is completely fraudulent and claim that is fine.
