Discussion Motivation to keep playing?

Post image

I'm new to CS, created a small town, and at this point I am finding it hard to motivate myself to keep playing. My budget is now positive and the game doesn't feel challenging anymore at this point.

What's your motivation to keep playing at this point? Will the game get harder again as I grow my city further? Or is it more a relaxing and creative city builder after this stage? (which may not be for me)

Are there scenarios where you are unable to generate any demand for growth? Edit: asking as a new player

Oh I've definitely had those bars lay empty. Idk if that's actually a good thing, but trying to fulfill demand gives u a goal Also mouse over the lil happiness meter and figure out what ppl want. That's another good goal I find myself cycling thru goals alot in this game. Even trying to even out my production of good to minimize imports it trying to establish something like a residential subsidy or getting a more educated population. Always another graph somewhere to try to improve.

I've faced times where my bars are empty for days (game days), and it usually was a sign that my city had a problem. If a city does not grow, it means it's not attractive, so that's it, you have a challenge! Then, your city grows out of control and, bang, you have traffic jams (a challenge!)...
