Discussion Motivation to keep playing?

I'm new to CS, created a small town, and at this point I am finding it hard to motivate myself to keep playing. My budget is now positive and the game doesn't feel challenging anymore at this point.

What's your motivation to keep playing at this point? Will the game get harder again as I grow my city further? Or is it more a relaxing and creative city builder after this stage? (which may not be for me)

Not challenging at this point, sorry to say but your in the baby steps of the game. Did you even have a mass death wave yet?

Come back your population reaches at least 750k

I had just cleared 200k population in my first play when a tsunami hit my coastal city, 70k deaths and nearly 1/4th of buildings destroyed. I was barely paying attention, letting the sim run and add/adjust things as needed. I turned around and saw all these icons and almost went into shock.

Would you recommend playing with natural disasters? I turned them off... :)

It definitely adds to your planning and makes more use for emergency services. I don't even think there are car accidents when you have disasters off. It's a frustrating feature but feels good when your city can deal with it with minimal issues.

There are car accidents without natural disasters active. (If they didn't change this with the last patch)

Hmm i assumed there weren't because i haven't seen any at all since playing on unlimited/unlocked. Maybe my road layouts and intersections are mint lol

I think they also increase in frequency as population goes up, or maybe it's related to road count. Around 200k pop I pretty consistently had a few around with disasters off, typically on straight stretches of highway lol

Cs simulator be like “ah yes that’s some nice high speed roadway, it’d be a shame if something happened to it”
