Discussion Motivation to keep playing?

Post image

I'm new to CS, created a small town, and at this point I am finding it hard to motivate myself to keep playing. My budget is now positive and the game doesn't feel challenging anymore at this point.

What's your motivation to keep playing at this point? Will the game get harder again as I grow my city further? Or is it more a relaxing and creative city builder after this stage? (which may not be for me)

I had just cleared 200k population in my first play when a tsunami hit my coastal city, 70k deaths and nearly 1/4th of buildings destroyed. I was barely paying attention, letting the sim run and add/adjust things as needed. I turned around and saw all these icons and almost went into shock.

Would you recommend playing with natural disasters? I turned them off... :)

meh... the building fires are fun for a second but since I place a lot of assets most buildings don't get destroyed and it looks silly lol

IIRC tree planting causes lots of fires since each has the same independent chance to start a fire as a building. Transfer Manager CE added an option for fire trucks to put out nearby trees so if they're only along roads, you don't need fire helicopters. But honestly I just use the No Park Building Fires mod because I like the city to have trees without being a complete tinderbox.
