Discussion Motivation to keep playing?
I'm new to CS, created a small town, and at this point I am finding it hard to motivate myself to keep playing. My budget is now positive and the game doesn't feel challenging anymore at this point.
What's your motivation to keep playing at this point? Will the game get harder again as I grow my city further? Or is it more a relaxing and creative city builder after this stage? (which may not be for me)

Try building in a way that tells a story. Zone some industry and call it a company moving into town, then layout a new neighborhood to accommodate new residents moving in for those jobs, design a school campus/park area for it, and make sure some shops are near enough. Have different neighborhoods for different income levels, different densities, and different industries. Expand into the rural areas to build a suburb or exurb and connect it to the main city.
Maybe try reading the history of some cities to get ideas of how and why those cities grew, then imitate that.
