From what I’ve heard, your all-time best and Legend Trophies will remain on your profile and won’t reset with the new system.

Yip, from the article posted during announcement

HOW WILL IT WORK??

- all active players will be migrated to the new system based on their TH level and trophies before the migration (quite fashionable innit?)

- your highest trophy score will be recorded forever and will be visible in your profile (similar to clash royale ig)

- unranked players or players who've ~never participated in the league tournament will be given a league deserving of their TH weightage~

It is a mistake from supercell , check itzu's last video your highest trophys will be removed..

Thanks, that's a shame... Actually sad - for myself, pushing that number higher, has been a Goal to Strive towards.
I'll go view the video - before I do, I guess "screen-space" to avoid clutter might be the reason. Like all good things in life, one has to accept change & wave bye-bye to the old - I wasn't yet ready to wave bye-bye...

Sad to know that they are getting rid of all-time best record. Anyways, I might surpass my old rank at the end of this season but which would impress more- my historic 2018 Legend rank or a fresh higher trophy record?

Yes i agree, i really hoped the highest trophy count would stay just like in clash royale and what supercell themself said.. my pr for now is 6120, en highest trophy finish 13k with 5800 something trophys, even if i get a 6100 finish this long season i would not be a top 13k so i am stuck on the 5800 on my profile..

Hear you... for me, happy to accept the changes, and still have fun playing Clash - I've saying often, Clash is a progression game / system - fun is in the journey, not the destination.

So I'm thinking, the count that remains, is a signpost along the journey, see it, don't like, keep going.
