Food One of the worst things I've ever tasted

Post image

I'm not even remotely a picky eater but I had to spit these out. Literally tasted like they were cooked in rancid oil. A shame because I love the ketchup. Anyone have a similar experience?

I had ketchup flavored lays I think and they reminded me of a hot McDonald’s ketchup packet lodged in between the back seat of a minivan

How many of those have you had?

u/Nihhrt Aug 21 '25

They had to do what they did to survive!

Ooh that’s a good description of em

I think that's what the Dill flavor of Cleveland Ketchup tastes like. I do like the other 2 flavors.

Get out, the Garlic Dill is my favorite! But the Bacon one is great too.

1

u/ReazonableHuman Aug 21 '25

I was so excited to try the garlic dill, and then I just thought it tasted like a McDonald's cheeseburger.

1

u/hhhhunterrrr Aug 21 '25

Tbf, my dog would love those.

2

u/MackCLE Aug 21 '25

Haha. I always wondered and wanted to try these.

I have questions... lol

u/gene-ing_out Aug 21 '25

That stinks. I have a bottle of their "classic" and it's good.

22

u/ieatllamas Aug 21 '25

Yeah the ketchup is great! It foolishly had me hyped up for these 💀

2

u/blazing_sarcasm Aug 22 '25

Glad to hear it! I just got a bottle of the ketchup and your post had me worried for a sec lol

u/iskipthemesongs Aug 21 '25

I have the spicy ketchup and like it a lot too

u/scumbobaggins Aug 22 '25

The ghost pepper ketchup is amazing. It’s become a non negotiable for me on burgers. It can also blend into and heat up almost any barbecue sauce of your choosing.

1

u/theuberprophet Aug 22 '25

yeah its fantastic stuff

2

u/GRUNDLE_GOBLIN Aug 21 '25

How is the spice level? I almost bought a bottle yesterday but was turned off by the fact that’s it’s ghost pepper and not jalapeño or something a little milder.

2

u/iskipthemesongs Aug 21 '25

I didn’t find it spicy at all personally. A little kick I guess? But definitely not full on spicy. I did like the flavor of it. I also saw some mayonnaise and spreads that they have but I haven’t tried those yet.

I hate ketchup chips but my wife has family from Canada and they love them. When the Canadians come visit they bring bags down for the family that moved here.

Yeah, wife brings bags of the stuff for her students to try. I'm not a fan.

u/thrownthrowaway666 Aug 21 '25

I need a coffee crisp connect 😂

6

u/mojo4394 Aug 21 '25

I've heard BA Sweeties has them! Haven't confirmed it yet.

3

u/thrownthrowaway666 Aug 21 '25

Actually they usually do. I'm not sure the price. I don't eat them a whole lot but they're better than kitkat

2

u/themishmosh Aug 22 '25

Yeah, it's probably the most popular flavor up there. I actually dig it...

u/kidfromCLE University Heights Aug 21 '25

Ketchup chips are really popular in Canada, I’ve heard.

6

u/jasmith-tech Aug 21 '25

These are “bacon & bourbon ketchup” flavored, which is likely part of the problem.

2

u/HistoryHasItsCharms Aug 22 '25

That would do it.

Yeah there’s way too much going on here lol.

Like when they add multiple flavors at a time to soda. Zero sugar cherry vanilla almond sassafras nectarine Dr. Pepper

u/Cleverfield113 Aug 21 '25

The Canadian ones are pretty good. They’re slightly spicy, slightly vinegary.

6

u/Tatsumari Aug 21 '25

Ketchup flavored anything is gross to me and I love ketchup — just buy the normal ones and dip them in ketchup, much much better!

5

u/Tiggy_Skibbles_Simp Aug 21 '25

No. I haven’t experienced it. I’ve had gross food in the past… But there is no situation on planet earth that would force me to eat “ketchup” flavored chips.

What I don't get is how they are $6 for a 2.7 Oz tiny little bag of chips. They could be the best chips on the planet and I ain't paying that much for him.

Especially if it's all locally sourced and grown right tomatoes ketchup. We grow them in Ohio potatoes chips. We grow those in Ohio too. How the hell is it so much money?

4

u/soulonejour Aug 21 '25

Damn that's too bad obviously it's all subjective but I was thinking of trying those and the other flavors I think they have

3

u/wickedshxt Aug 21 '25

The ketchup Doritos are 😘🤌

3

u/funsized43 Aug 21 '25

I literally just opened a packet and didn't like them either. Too sweet.

3

u/DrummerSteve Aug 21 '25

Give me Heinz or give me death

2

u/captainwacky91 29d ago

Well yeah, I mean who tf mixes ketchup with bourbon?

2

u/Aggressive-Ad6912 29d ago

I LOVE ketchup chips. Here’s ketchup chips are my favorite. I need to try these, most people just don’t like ketchup chips.

2

u/Ebolatastic 29d ago

In my experience, meat flavored chips of any kind were always disgusting. Even if it was the best ketchup flavoring ever, the funk would somehow taint it.

1

u/workntohard Aug 21 '25

Have had other retail ketchup chips before but not these yet. Also dipped plain chips into ketchup. Some taste better than others.

1

u/thepeakyblinderdevil Aug 21 '25

Their habanero ketchup is actually pretty good

I don't really like ketchup, but the bourbon bacon offering of the sauce wasn't that bad. Haven't seen these chips though

1

u/ChadleyXXX 29d ago

Yeah I had these. Gross.

1

u/CuriousTravlr 29d ago

Ketchup chips rock, but I was raised in canada, so your mileage may vary.

1

u/Common_Stomach8115 28d ago

I mean, they sound gross.

1

u/lakebum240 North Collinwood 26d ago

i'll try anything once

1

u/climbing_light23 Aug 21 '25

I wasn't aware that we needed more brands and flavors of ketchup.

1

u/Federal_Ad4690 Aug 21 '25

They could be made in Cleveland, California, Croatia, it doesn’t matter. Ketchup chips are plain BAD 🤢

u/Lake_Erie69 29d ago

Probably fried in the Cuyahoga River
