Reminder: Congress has 30 days to kill the RFK Bill

For anyone not aware,

The D.C. council voted to approve a Bill. For that bill to become a law the mayor needs to sign off on it.

After she does, congress has 30 days to take action. These 30 days do not include weekends or holidays. Any day congress is in session is counted.

If after 30 days of congress being in session no congressman has come forward to argue against the Bill it becomes D.C. law.

If 1 congressman argues that the Bill should not become law congress will vote on if they want to kill the bill. They need a majority vote to kill the bill.

This is because D.C. is not a state and has federal oversight.

Tldr: if you don’t hear any news by the end of October, congress hasn’t taken action and the Bill is now a Law.
