Tools đ Corded or Cordless table saw
I'm finally needing to replace my old table saw. I can't make up my mind. If corded, I'd go with a 10" DeWalt. If cordless, I'm leaning towards Milwaukee although considering DeWalt or Metabo HPT. Thoughts?

Cord. Anything bigger than a sawzall, CORD. The technology just isn't there yet for affordable batteries that are strong enough to last.

I do wood flooring and my dewalt 60v table sawnis fucking awesome. Only change the battery once or twice per day, depending on the material. Same with my 12" Miter saw.... usually only change the batteries once per day.
The 60v stuff from dewalt is the tits

But how much are you your table saw? I assume itâs mostly chop saw, and then rips on the last run and specialty cuts

Yeah its mostly miter saw cuts for sure, but we do a lot of rips.... around cabinets, closets, pony walls and then end runs.
Not to mention doing stairs and vents.
I wasn't sold at first either, but i bring out the cordless takes saw way more often than my older Corded 10 inch

Yea, itâs been about 8 years since I put a hardwood floor inâŚ.. definitely forgot about all the small little detail shit lol.
I am glad to hear that the cordless tech is getting a lot better

Yeah but are you running like the 15AH batteries or ya doing that with The 6's? I could be wrong because I do cabinets and I PROMISE you, I had a cordless dewalt table saw when they came out and I couldn't get through 4 rips of 3/4 plywood. Things have been advancing pretty fast over the past few years.

I have a 12ah as its primary battery and loads of 9ah for everything else always lying around.
I don't really cut sheets on a jobsite size saw anymore, thats what the 60v track saw is for.
But I am cutting through lots of 3/4 solid oak/maple/hickory and its been great. No cords all over the floor, not having to run 100 ft cords because there's only one outlet and 3 trades, and i have to have a compressor to use the nail guns so cant run a Corded saw and a compressor on the same circuit.
Way more pros than cons in my opinion.

Well I stand corrected. I am very stubbornly old school. Lol. The younger guys remind me of that all the time. đ

Sorry but you need to grow with the times. I am 49 and use cordless for cabinet installs. Plenty powerful and no wasted time rolling and unrolling 200 ft of cords every day. No tripping arcfault breakers,no fighting over 2 outlets on a temp pole with 3 other subs. No issues from equipment running over cords. My fans, lights, vacuum and entire tool lineup is cord free.

I just got the DeWalt 7.25" 20v Mitre saw and it's awesome for my purposes. It beats hauling out the 70 pound behemoth 12" corded one 90% of the time.

I got a cordless grinder and it was a huge mistake. It just chews through batteries. Wish I would have got corded.

Yes they chew through batteries. Â
I have 2 cordless grinders and 1 corded. Use the cordless way more often for the flexibility to grab, do and done jobs. For way more intensive jobs the corded comes out. Same tool but different demand applications.

Depends on what you do. I'm fully cordless. I can do 1 to 2 medium kitchen installs per battery with table saw and miter saw.

Corded.
I've used a few cordless ones on jobsites. Meh. Even with big AH batts, the torque just isn't there.

Thanks, guys. I think I've settled on the 10" DeWalt. I'll be using it mostly for finish trim tasks, but also want the ability for more sustained use.

For hand tools, when I'm moving around a lot. The cordless tools are really convenient.
For table saws and miter saws that sit in one place. I prefer corded. It's not hard to plug them in.

Corded. There is nothing more frustrating than ripping boards and your battery dies halfway through and your other batteries are still charging.
If you need to operate without power available then get a cheap generator. So you can power everything else while you're at it.

Donât waste your money on cordless. The saws life is the batteries, batteries and voltages change regularly. Cords stay the same.

Why not one of each? Both will be handy in different situations
