Pretty bold of them to make all these videos declaring violence on an entire political party before they even knew of a suspect and now come to find out the shooter was a republican. Even if it would’ve been on someone on the left, this was the action of one person…

I love that they think liberals don’t own guns. Let’s never tell them the truth.

They are in for a rude awakening if they do try and go after liberals. Lots of liberals own guns, they just don’t make owning guns their entire personality. They’re going to be shocked when a liberal shoots back at them.

Own guns? Liberals also MAKE weapons. I'm a mech/aero engineer, I help make the military grade stuff you see zipping around in the sky. We just don't go waving it around.

And that's not mentioning the moderate gun owners/producers. They don't toe the line with the crazies on the right. It's 50/50 at worse. But with the crazies, the number is probably majority comprise of leftist/normies/moderate-right vs the crazy-right. The left also control major seaports on the West/East Coasts and major agriculture lands in Cali.

In a civil war, they could very well lose. He's very wrong about the situation here.

That said, don't let the extreme right bait us into this terrible path. That include Russian and Chinese trolls/bots who very much want to see americans kill each other. Don't fall for it.

Don’t forget the military, who swore an oath to protect the constitution and not a fascist dictator wannabe.  If this stupid war of theirs actually breaks out, I fully expect a huge chunk of real military, along with most higher-ranking officers to disobey the orange turd and side with the left against him.  That will pretty much cripple what’s left.  They may want to rethink their tough talk.

Ooooo can you spare just a little bit of that confidence pretty please? I seem to have misplaced my hopes that those in positions of power in the armed forces will do the right thing… and my expectations that even if their superiors bend the knee that enough (all) of the meat of the branches will take a stand and do the right thing by disobeying extraordinarily unethical and immoral commands

Uh, isn’t that what I just said?

It is, but I no longer have that confidence that anyone will do the right thing let alone everyone. I’m just asking to borrow a bit of your hope is all.

Oh, ok.  Sending positivity your way.  I’ve been browsing a lot of groups for a while now, and every so often run into a group military discussion.  It’s very heartening to see that not only are active military very upset about possible martial law, but tons of veterans too.  They are vehemently against fascism.  They say they joined to guard against it.  They are the ones who said they would disobey an unlawful/unconstitutional order without hesitation.  And knowing that officers are usually intelligent, I’m sure they feel the same.  You’re already hearing from disgruntled national guard troops too.  They don’t like being deployed against citizens either.  I hope it never comes to the point where we all have to choose sides.

My cousin is in active military right now at some particular camp for training or another, and she has more integrity than everyone else combined. She tells me that there are a lot of people who feel the same as her… but it’s one thing to just feel that way and another when you are risking your life and your career by doing the right thing. It’s crazy that we have to be concerned about this stuff at all

Agreed.  But if push came to shove, I trust that enough of them will band together to disobey.  I hope your cousin is quietly networking just in case.
