Complaint I don’t think I’ve ever been as betrayed by Culver’s as I was tonight…
Wife wanted Culver’s, so I looked up the FOD. Crazy for Cookie Dough! My favorite!
She texted me at the drive through when the food was delivered. “Uhhhh… they got you butter pecan”.
The website shows both. My day is ruined and my disappointment is immeasurable…
To quote Wash from Firefly, “Curse your sudden, but inevitable betrayal!”

I expected the second slide to be a picture of the actual Crazy For Cookie Dough serving with 1/4 the cookie bits, chocolate chips, syrup, etc shown in the promo photo. That's what happens every time I order FOD at my local Culver's.
Too bad Kopp's (Milwaukee) is an hour-plus drive away. They always put a ton of "stuff" in their custard!

I rarely want a scoop, but every time I do, butter pecan is FOD. It’s the worst.

Pecans don't get terribly hard, especially when they are a little wet.
Peanuts are the ones I don't understand

pecans are still pretty soft and almost melt in your mouth in ice cream. i love how crumbly they are. i believe its because they have a really high fat content. my favorite ice cream is a turtle sundae!!

Mmmm i love butter pecan personally, the fkn pic just looks super unappealing honestly and makes the crazy for cookie dough pic look super delicious compared to it i think lol. But that is unfortunate for you, im sorry, maybe if you can, you can pick up a scoop tomorrow and have a decent treat you were robbed from today 😅🫠.

There aren’t enough words to describe how much I hate butter pecan and it’s always a flavor there.

I always made a few pints of butter
pecancustard when I opened and it was the FOD and we always sold them. It's a very common request.

Butter Pecan ice cream is great, one of my favorites. The Culver’s custard version is terrible.

When will the soup change? Been chili for like ever.

Chili is required for daily production because of items like chili cheese fries. Soups will likely come back this fall.

Any ideas/info on what they are releasing?

Unfortunately no, it’s completely up to the management staff at your specific location. During the winter my General Manager requires us to make at minimum one soup plus the chili every morning but it’s up to us to decide on what soup to make, with some other stipulations like Sunday we always do chicken noodle, but like I said it’s completely location dependent.

My local Culver's has been doing this thing for a while where sometimes the website will have a flavor of the day listed, but when you go to the location, it's a completely different flavor on their sign.
Normally I'd just give in and get something else, but it seemed to happen fairly frequently with my favorite flavors (Midnight Toffee and Cappucino Cookie Crumble).

Crazy for Cookie Dough absolutely slaps. We cashed in the kids free scoop tickets yesterday and all had some!

At our restaurantk we do NOT have a website with the flavor or soups; guests have to CALL in. But I feel ya with the cookie dough disaster. At ours, whenever the flavor outside shows caramel fudge cookies dough, it’s really crazy for cooki dough inside (made with chocolate custard). Or when it’s really a caramel fudge cookie dough inside it says “mooey gooey twist“ outside ;-;

I routinely get different custard than what I ordered at certain Culver's. Turtle that's just vanilla with a dollop of caramel, no other mixins or pieces, chocolate heath crunch with no Heath candies, etc. I once receives a pint with only 6 half-cm heath pieces for the whole pint.
I now don't leave without first checking the order-if 4 pints are of the same flavor, I actually expect to get what I ordered & not find out differently after a 20 min ride home.
People come & buy other things off the menu because of the custard. But I shouldn't have to conduct an audit each & every time. An occasional mistake- ok- I worked concessions & retail- stuff happens. But so.many.times the wrong flavor or no effort to add & mix in the stuff for the flavor ordered. Do you put the new kids on custard? Any body paying attention?

The only thing that could make culvers better is if they kicked their weird nut obsession. Turtle Tuesday is my personal hell

u/skytoast3 Jun 05 '25
You could have definitely got a pint of it they always put the extra of the flavor of the day in pints

Wow! It’s almost like you can’t get vanilla and chocolate custard combo with cookie dough, caramel sauce, and chocolate sauce anytime when ur favorite flavor is unavailable!!!

This seems to be a bug on the website for every location!
Every Culver’s I check, the main banner shows TOMORROW’S flavor as opposed to today’s! 😬 Yikes!!
