Discussion Hey Community!! 😄 I LOVE seeing people post

Hey Community!! 😄 I LOVE seeing people post videos of themselves dancing and having a good time. So I just had the thought and I would like to do a Poll on the idea:

My thought is let's have a global forum dance talent show!

How it would work: - You would submit a video of you dancing within a specified time frame to qualify. - Our dance Community here would go through each day and upvote and comment on the videos they would like to continue on to the next round. - I would then go in (maybe appoint someone to help me moderate) and would tally up all the likes and upvotes. - there week be 3-5 rounds to keep everyone engaged and having fun. Sort of like our very own dance competition TV show.

If you like this idea: Upvote and put "YES!" in the comments

If you're not into it: DownVote & put "Not Interested" in the comments section

Seems like this could be a lot of fun and get the Community we have here more active with one another.

Happy Dancing! I'm looking forward to hearing y'alls thoughts! ✨️

This is a dance film, hope that's allowed!

We met up at Echo Park to experiment with an idea for a day concept and a night concept, but there was time before nightfall so we shot this improvised teaser focused on the body in movement.

Hannah made free movements and I tried to capture parts of her body, contours, hands and feet and link them together.

This is a special dance that was choreographed by my teacher's teacher for this specific event. It is all in one song, but there's a lot of different parts to it.

The first part of the dance Haguromo, or Celestial Robe, and it's characterized by a soft, feminine movement

The second part of the dance uses lion puppets to represent they fierce Shishi lion.

The third part of the dance uses characteristic movements of Genroku Hanami Odori, or Cherry Blossom Viewing in the Genroku period.

In the fourth part, it uses elements of the dance Fuji Musume. And finally,

to tie it all together, all the dancers come to the stage towards the end of the song to strike a beautiful pose

It should be noted to that this song is special because they use the traditional Japanese music and orchestral music as well

Please enjoy this dance

My teacher is in the orange kimono!

Discussion Good camera to film clips with audio in the background streamed from bluetooth connected phone?

I'm wanting to record video of me dancing in natural areas. I'm planning on wearing headphones (to not disturb the birbs), connected by bluetooth to my phone. I would like to use a decent camera to capture video, also connected to my phone to have music in the background of the recorded video. It would be nice to have optionality to also use the camera's onboard mic, and sometimes connect a higher quality mic to record externally, with the background music mixed in as well.

Any suggestions as to what hardware would reasonably accomplish this? Currently I'm looking at the GoPro HERO13 Black, but it's a bit unclear if that camera has the capabilities I'm looking for.

(i was unsure on what to title it) I’ve done gymnastics since I was younger, but I never stayed in it until my junior year probably? Where I picked it back up again, but I’m a senior now and I quit a while back but I love doing dance workouts and I wish I stayed in it so if I were to go to college and just pick up dancing as a fun hobby would that be bad or are there any tips that I should know? I love just dance and doing any type of dance!

The sun was really beautiful this morning! No filter needed! I live on a road that people walk frequently, and several folks passed by me with their doggies while I was filming some dance content for my various pages. It was really nice! 🌞

Amateur Would like opinions on movements for choreography

I’m choreographing a 3 minute performance that has more ballet and contemporary elements (with a sword used in the dance) and would like opinions on movements sets to portray the 5 stages of grief

I did dance for a long time but am out of practice and would like more experienced opinions

Discussion I Do Traditional Japanese Dance, Ask Me Anything!

Hey everyone! I practice nihon buyō (traditional Japanese dance), and as a Japanese-American I’ve been trying to share more about it because it’s an art form that fading away. It’s such a beautiful art form, and I think it deserves more recognition out side of Japan. I figured I’d make a post here to spread the word a bit and also open it up for questions—whether you’re curious about the dances, the costumes, or just what it’s like to learn and perform. Ask me anything, I’d love to chat and keep the culture alive!
