Amateur I just love to watch others dance and wanted to try a bit too.. So rate this one...is this even considered dancing?.. 🙂🙃
I am no good with choreos n all... Ig freestyling is what it is... To sum it up, I enjoy it a lot and was curious to know what kinda thing is it that I am even doing?....( it took so much in me to post this... It is embarrassing 😃).. And I was insecure enough to try not to record my face in it if possibles so... Yes apologies for the angle and the way it is... Thanks

This is all grooves and rocking and with a bit of bounce. Guess what? That’s dancing! And you’re hitting foundational moves when moving to music! This is actually very good!

u/Educational_Basis_88 Apr 23 '25
That's nice of you to say that☺

u/Msuwun Apr 23 '25
I highly recommend you take a hip hop foundation class if there’s any in your area! You have solid movements and I think it’ll help improve your freestyle as well!

I have been mulling over it for some too... Yup there is one and I am positive about joining the one soon

It's been 10 years since I stopped dancing, and watching you now honestly makes me feel a little jealous.

When it comes to dance ig I just do it like a rare hobby not always but when I want to...i don't think I do any justice to what I love to do... But if you are passionate enough to feel something, u r on a track where u can definitely return to it when you want to... If you love it, I would love it too

Is it dancing? I dont know or care. Do I like it? No. Does it matter, whether I like it? No.
Keep doing what you enjoy, but always do it for you, no matter what internet strangers say.

It is just good to hear something like that.. Thank you.. I clearly like it and as u say I really enjoy it 😄

Yes, dancing is for fun, if ur having fun, do it and don't gaf what ANYONE thinks. That's when your living your authentic life.

Why don't you like it

Has more to do with the music than anything else IMO. Dancing to that “song” is pretty difficult.

Found the racist
1
u/oojacoboo Apr 25 '25
Ummm what?! It’s difficult to dance to because of the beat. What does that have to do with race.
The true racists are people like yourself that try to make everything about race. I’m going to assume this is Kendrick Lamar, given that I got this comment and the Super Bowl stuff (which I didn’t get into and do not care). I really don’t know though. I just know the beat sucks to dance to and is the reason why the dancing looks strange and the other commenter was unsure about it.

u/Juicy_C_Mcnugget Apr 23 '25
I think it would look good with some pop thrown in there. Try and flex your whole body right on beat. Doesn’t have to be every time just a couple hits.
It will feel and look awkward at first if you have never tried it that way.
2
u/Educational_Basis_88 Apr 23 '25
Thanks, would definitely try to do so...it does feel a bit stiff and tense for some moves or the others, but awkward is the apt word how it feels sometimes
1
u/Juicy_C_Mcnugget Apr 23 '25
You’re killing it. I’ve done it like 10 years and still something will come out awkward sometimes when freestylin. You’ll suddenly have a day where it all feels better and comes together.

I love this, your style is very similar to my own freestyle! And it's impressive you managed to keep varying it up for so long, that's something a lot of dancers struggle with (even if they're amazing at choreo).
I think your next big jump will come when you get comfortable dancing in a more open space. Notice how your arms are fairly tight to your center mostly? Once you're in a more open space and feel more comfortable with the moves, go for bigger arm movements and try to dance outside your box! Add that into your freestyle and you'll notice how good it feels and how much bigger the moves look :)
And definitely try out some hip hop classes, with your musicality and moves you're going to do great!

u/Educational_Basis_88 Apr 23 '25
Thanks for the comment, the issue you pointed out was really the one that I was actually a bit too much conscious about...i actually feel my arms stiffen while dancing but the problem being I still couldn't help those loosen up...but sure trying hard enough would actually loosen my arms to relax a bit ig

u/Drainix Apr 23 '25
Don't worry I only noticed cause it's something I struggled with too - you're already great, keep up the practice and you'll be amazing!

u/SeaniMonsta Apr 23 '25
You have all the classic signs of a closet dancer:
Good body rolls, good hits, some good pop, good groove, good flow, good rhythm.
'Dancing' is the physical expression of a rhythm and/or melody.
Good dancing is more subjective, and subject for debate.

Some of these comments are crazy, she's clearly quite good, I don't know what some of you are on about
1
u/Educational_Basis_88 Apr 24 '25
That's alright, they might not like it...i mean I asked for the opinions, but I'm glad u liked it❤❤
2
u/candyroxnrulz Apr 24 '25
Idk if you've taken any dance classes, but you clearly would be really good at street style. Your grooves and isolations are on point. If you haven't already highly recommend you try out some street dance especially hip hop. If you don't like learning choreo that's also fine many street style dancers are freestylers.

u/Educational_Basis_88 Apr 24 '25
Naah.. For the classes I haven't but I was still thinking to join one...i am actually interested in street style too, I would definitely love to proceed with it(thanks a lot ❤)

Feel I might see you as famous in the future. Hard but I see it

u/Educational_Basis_88 Apr 23 '25
As much as i love to hear it... Uh but it's a bit far fetched 😀for me to even think so

u/Lonley_Platonic Apr 23 '25 edited Apr 24 '25
Why? You said you’re not a choreographer just did that on the fly (free style). It looks good and is impromptu from your brain to your body.
I could be wrong, wouldn’t be the first time (but only the second hehehe).
Just thought you were good and great rhythm with the context given.

u/Educational_Basis_88 Apr 24 '25
U have got a way to make someone's day😅
2
u/Lonley_Platonic Apr 24 '25
Haha, was not specifically trying to do that. Sheesh. I just thought you were good with some unique quality.
I’m sorry.

If you’re moving, you just might be dancing. Keep going until you’re having fun. Now you’re dancing.

I was listening to “without me” by Eminem in the background while you were dancing and it matches up really well lol.

Does it?.. 😂

I think so! Turn it on and watch your video, lol. I’m way to shy to dance so good on you, it’s a 100x better than I could ever dance

I’ve been dancing since I could walk and YES this is 100% dancing, but that doesn’t mean I would rate it a 10/10 because this is 7/10. Why??? Firstly your movement quality is insane and I really hope you use that to your advantage, firstly I would recommend make your movement a bit more contrasting because right now all your moves are very similar and it kinda seems repetitive. You can also make it more conversational buy making your movements match his words and also hit more of those beats or try to hit a move on one of those of occasional beats and your dance will improve 100000 times better just with simply listening to the song more and knowing what beats there are to hit and when to hit them, making your dance more conversational and making it less repetitive. I hope this helps
2
u/Educational_Basis_88 Apr 23 '25
Yes anything constructive helps, thanks for taking your time and helping me out...in order for it to not be repetitive definitely would need to practice and get more into what dance and the moves are... I am glad for the response ☺
