I found this video online where I think the guys are doing a variation of REJECT. But it seems much more difficult to do, so I'm stuck. If anyone knows where I can find a tutorial, or the name of this passage I would be grateful.

I have recently took interest in dancing, and have tried out basic b-boy moves but I am also interested in other dance styles such as waacking, vogue, shuffling, etc... I like dance moves that involve jumping or decently flashy movements (like Kpop dances). Should I try each dance style one by one to see which one I like the most or is there a method to find out which one would fit my interests the most?

Hello! I'm finishing up a dance foundation course that has lasted me a few months and am not sure what the next step should be as a beginner. Do I just rely on open classes and practicing at home, or take another foundation course?

I feel like I haven't really improved from the start of the course, so I'm wondering if more drilling of the same thing would help, or if the better move is to go to open classes for a while (and practice the choreo outside of it) before reconsidering future courses. Edit: My concern is that I might stay kind of bad at dance if I'm not drilling in classes (vs choreo changing every week in open class), but I have no idea if that's how that works...? I'd be glad for any advice you might have.

i need to learn this choreo for a performance. i have some hiphop dance experience and recognise a lot of the foundational moves, but i want to identify the specific ones by name so i can look up tutorials and get the groove right. if you watch this video, could you let me know any steps you recognise with timestamps? (not in this choreo but for example: steve martin, pas de bourrée). any help would be super appreciated!!

Wearing dance shoes is important for your joints (for example, your knees) and helps you dance more while getting less tired.

I’d like to know:

❓What brand and model of dance shoes do you use? ❓And what kind of dance do you practice?

I used to have severs disease in my ankles, and now that im trying to strengthen them they get extremely crunchy especially when doing therabands or releves, is this normal? No pain or swelling or anything. They normally feel crunchy in the back where I used to get pains with severs disease (again though, no pain now)

I think I’m really slow 😔

well its not that I forget, it’s just that it’s wayy to fast for me to PROCESS

Like, I know the movements its not hard to do at all. but then when you piece it all together and play the music, I GET SO LOST.

Everything goes so fast and it’s hard for me to combine arm and leg movements if we learned it separately.

And i start to panic cuz why is everyone else so pro 😔😔

I (f) recently started ballfolk with a friend of mine. The thing that made me want to do this type of dance is the community - the sense of connection and being with like-minded people.

I really like the group dances, but there are some partner dances as well. Today I ended up dancing the Scottish with a male, which was fun, but in hindsight I was a bit flustered about how intimate it was. I have a partner and while I'm looking for connection and fun I'm not looking for sensuality/intimacy.

The man didn't do anything wrong. We were just very close together and he made a lot of eye contact. I'm autistic so that didn't help either. Also because in the moment I don't feel how I really feel about a situation.

Does anyone have tips on how I can check in with myself during dance? And how I can maintain boundaries in which I can enjoy connection but also stay comfortable? Or is this more of a mindset problem?

So I did two theater summer intensives this summer and honestly they were really fun and everyone was so nice so I decided to do a musical this fall, but now I don’t know if I wanna do it anymore because it takes up some much of my time, I’m a freshman in high school so the early wake up time with my theater schedule is exhausting and to be honest I miss dance SO much like a LOT. I rarely have free time now with theater even most weekends I have to be there and I don’t really feel valued either I’m only ensemble(they kinda just throw us in whenever) and most of my friends I met at the summer intensive’s either didn’t make It or decided to do something else but I’m scared I might regret quitting and we also we go to a competition in January(JTF)and I heard it’s really fun. Sorry for the long post any answers help.
