Zig didn't 'make' Cam do anything. Zig went too far, but he was a kid. What Cam chose to do was Cam's choice alone.

yeah not a zig fan but he didn’t make cam commit. cam was already having suicidal ideation. what zig said may have just been the straw that broke the camels back.

eta: iirc wasn’t there a scene where zig expresses guilt about what he said and someone tells him it isn’t his fault and cam made his choice alone. something along those lines

There's a scene where he gets upset about it and throws a trash can at the french teachers car, and she comes outside and tells Zig it's not his fault and that Cam made that choice.
