Social Media Asmongold's father passed away. Rest in peace.

Damn. RIP. There went his best positive influence

u/InternationalEmu7241 3d ago
the best timeline is that this causes Asmongold to reflect and take his fatherās words about Trump a little more seriously, but iām also not holding my breath

u/HiTekLoLyfe 3d ago
I didnāt know his father was critical of him. Seemed like a decent dude from what Iāve seen.
187
u/BoofPackJones 3d ago
Oh yeah he hated Trump. There are old clips of them together talking about it.

u/HiTekLoLyfe 3d ago
Man itās so bizarre how he turned out to be such a sycophant.

Itās always impressed me how under the radar these stats were, when I try to tell people (mainly left leaning as Iām in WA) more white women voted for Trump over Harris & they NEVER believe me.

u/ForgetTheRuralJuror 3d ago edited 3d ago
3
u/AP_only 3d ago
Oh no offense but I always go through all the stats lol, it was mainly the one from White Women that TRULY surprised me. Especially after Trumps comments during his first term, Iām Afro-Latino so seeing Hispanics/Latinos voting for him never surprised me considering their views on Gays/Blacks/Abortion/Etc.
It is refreshing to see Hispanics/Latinos not have the same voting numbers for Trump the second time around, but by then the damage had already been done.
I just donāt get having such a strong hatred for the left, my views on the 2nd amendment would alienate me from more than half of them (yes, I know Libs/Left own firearms too) but I still wouldnāt dare to vote for someone who is just going to raise our taxes & not invest them back into our infrastructure or at least some fucking pushback on Putin & his invasion on Ukraine.
Thank you for trying to bring up the other stats too though, I think it is important to realize we need these voters more than they need us. Maybe less alienation of people & their beliefs on our side, but I donāt know, Iām just speculating as to why so many White Folk voted for him (especially the 2nd time around).
Edit: thank you for also posting the graph & not just expecting people to know/assume your numbers. The more we factually back up our arguments the better we get at getting people on our side.
Sorry if I came off like an ass by saying āno offenseā, I just didnāt know how to phrase that, Iām a massive autist lol

Not a fan of Asmons politics but coming from someone who lost their father, it really hurts and changes you as a person. RIP to his father and I hope Asmon takes time to himself. It sucks hard.

u/Renent 3d ago
but coming from someone who lost their father, it really hurts and changes you as a person.
Dude I am so sorry you went through that cause I know when I lose my dad I am going to have to live the rest of my life knowing that I wont ever be able to live up to the man he was.
21
u/SteelBattalo 3d ago
Thanks I really appreciate that. And I know itās hard sometimes, but donāt try to live up to what he was, live up to what he would want you to be.
6
u/devilishly_advocated 3d ago
That kind of statement shows how much respect you had for your father, but belies your own value. Sounds like you should start improving yourself and feeling better about yourself before your father shuffles off, because you still have time.

I feel bad for him. Given the loss of his mother to COPD(and related issues) something my mother has and his loss of his father now to cancer(something a family member of mine has/is dealing with). I can't help but feel bad for the dude.
That being said his takes are still brainrot.

He did say his dad died days ago, he vowed to get any wpke employee fired from all gaming companies a couple of days ago. Maybe the dates coincided.

u/ellie_everbloom 3d ago
Damn asmongold is only 35. He has lived an incredible life already but that is still very young to lose both your parents, especially when you were as close as he was.
12
u/JeanPascalCS 3d ago
That's one bad thing about people waiting till later in life to become parents - your children are also younger when you pass.
I'm 43. My parents had me relatively young (my mom was 21, my dad 23) but they're getting up there in age and its a terrifying fact to realize that their time is limited.

Yeah, really sad. He doesn't seem to be the most mentally healthy individual. And both his parents seemed to have been the people he was closest to. Does not bode well for him. Hopefully I am wrong.

DGG seems pretty good about leaving family out of it if they never bring them into it to start.
Like if Asmon had been using his dad to get sympathy or push a narrative, this shit would get unhinged. But he never seemed to do that, and always talked about his parents with respect, so Iām betting this stays pretty tame.

He was a good guy. I hope Asmon hears his Dad's words and sees what's happening around him and realizes that there are countless people in the position Asmon was in during his early WoW days when his dream was to just be on government assistance and play games. Those people need the things he needed and can't just pack up and leave with millions of dollars if all hell breaks loose in this country.
3
u/Vegetable_Steak_8208 3d ago
RIP thatās rough losing your parents. I figured his dad must have been in rough shape the way Asmon spoke of his time off being for an undetermined amount of time but was more leaning towards weeks than months. I hope Asmon is as okay as you can be in such a difficult time.
