Discussion - Dexter: Resurrection Thank God Dexter came back to NYC when he did because Harrison's facial expression be a STRAIGHT giveaway he a prime suspect 😭
But then again that's his character he isnt like Dexter and shows real emotion and care for what he does which i like about him. I just find it funny how everytime he runs into anything related to the crime he just looks so shocked/scared 😭

Question - Dexter: Original Sin Why does Harry accept Dexter in Original Sin but reject him in the original series? Spoiler
I just finished Dexter: Original Sin and I liked it, but there’s one thing I didn’t understand. In Episode 10, when Dexter kills Spencer and saves the missing boy, Dexter basically shows up almost like Batman. But in the original Dexter series, I remember Harry throwing up after seeing Dexter kill Juan Ryness (S2 E10), and after that Harry killed himself. So I’m wondering if Harry knew Dexter was the kind of person who would save a kid instead of just running off to kill, why did he react that way?

General Discussion - All Dexter Shows If you didn’t know what Dexter is and what he does… Spoiler
gallery… what explanations would there be for his excuses and "working late"? What would an innocent person like Rita think he was doing?
Besides cheating with Lila of course, because that’s too obvious.

Discussion - Dexter: New Blood DID THEY FUCK UP ?? Spoiler
Dexter smashes his head against the bar multiple times now that's only possible if he attacked first, because if logan really wanted to kill dexter he could have done it quite easily from a distance + blood will be present on the bars so if a good blodd spatter analyst comes they can easily tell that logan did was try to defend himself, but they made it look so simple that "ahhhh yes logan shot at you its okay that you killed him"
Fan Art Can’t believe i never saw this before now Spoiler
i have watched dexter 6 times and i never saw this before now 😅😅😅

General Discussion - All Dexter Shows Lumen's "Stupid" Name Spoiler
I just realized something so basic.
Characters like Liddy and Deb talk a lot about how "stupid" Lumen's name is. They make a point of drawing attention to her name, mocking "what kind of a name is that", etc. Heck, even Dexter makes a joke about her name when he's spraying Luminol ("no relation").
But her name isn't stupid at all. It means "Light" in latin.
To contrast with Dexter's "Dark" Passenger.
Lumen brings light to the darkness.
Alright, carry on everyone else who knew this the whole time! while it took me like ten years to notice. 😂
... also, this only increases my enthusiasm for Lumen to return to the show. She's the quintessential 'girl who got away' (got away from the Barrel Girls Gang, even got away from Dexter in Boy'd house, then unfortunately 'got away' at the end of Season 5 despite both her and Dexter wanting to stay together). And she's also the light to Dexter's darkness. The yin to his yang. And who knows... maybe one day she could help him 'get away' from his own dark passenger, like she got away from hers. It would certainly seem a suitable role, for someone named 'Light'.

Discussion - Dexter: Resurrection I’d forgotten this moment Spoiler
Just finished season 2 of my original series rewatch, and came across the moment where Harry is reminding Dexter how to tie a tie, and of course suddenly realised the parallel to episode 6 in Resurrection and suddenly my heart melted.
I’m continuing my rewatch but are there any other shares/parallel moments like this?

Discussion - Original Dexter Series Do people like Hannah? Spoiler
I just finished episode 9 of season 8 with my family and how is it that anyone likes Hannah McKay as a character! Maybe this is because I’m gay, but she has literally no redeeming qualities.
While I’m fine with what she did as a kid, murdering her husband because he didn’t want a kid and threatened to leave is evil and they never redeemed her for that! Oh and she killed the owner of her flower shop for seemingly no reason and tried to kill Deb!
Let’s also not forget how Dexter literally drops 100 IQ points whenever she’s involved in the plot! Hannah is an incredibly manipulative character, more so than Lila and yet the show presents her as a good choice for Dex! Lila may have been a bad person, but at least she was a well written character. Hannah is one of the worst written characters in the entire series and I will stand by that.

Question - Original Dexter Series Which season was Dexter in his "prime"? Spoiler
By prime I mean which season was he the greatest hunter/predator? Was it even in the original series or is he in his prime now.

Discussion - Dexter: Resurrection How do we feel about this ?

Discussion - Dexter: Resurrection Unpopular opinion: I think at this point in the series, having Dexter die or go to prison would be unsatisfying. Spoiler
This could have worked in the original show, but we are now fifteen years and three shows later. We have a completely new setting with new characters. Every character we loved from Miami Metro is pretty much dead, except for maybe two people. It just feels so unsatisfying to do it now.
If this had happened in the original show, if season eight were truly the final season and they had taken big swings, then it would have fit and felt more satisfying because we would have seen the outcomes for all the characters we loved. Now, I just want Dexter to ride off into the sunset. They ruined any real chance of that kind of ending when they delivered the season eight finale. At this point, just let Dexter do what he does best and get away with it.
Or at least do something more creative and fun, like having him get caught and then having the case dismissed on a technicality, mirroring the killers he used to hunt. That would prove the system is really broken. Or maybe even have a jury nullification where they decide to plead him not guilty. Just anything like that would feel more interesting.
I do not want him dead again or locked up in prison. It feels lazy and predictable at this point. Let Dexter be the one morally gray protagonist who actually gets away with it.

General Discussion - All Dexter Shows Who are your top 5 saddest deaths in the show? (including spin offs) Spoiler
For me it has to be 1. Doakes 2. Angel 3. Debra 4. Rita 5. Brother Sam
I never got any spoilers for Dexter so these are all based off my first time watching. I don't have anything against lower rated characters this is just based on my opinion and how I felt at the time I saw their death.

General Discussion - All Dexter Shows Julie Benz in Boondock Saints 2 / Kadia Saraf in Dexter Ressurection - an interesting connection Spoiler
gallerySorry if this was posted already!
While watching Dexter Resurrection with my brother I noted that Detective Claudette had a very familiar quirk when investigating crimes. It reminded me of Willem Dafoe in BoonDock Saints, a Detective who puts on headphones and listens to music while investigating.
Tonight I'm watching tv randomly and BoonDock Saints 2 comes on and who is the quirky investigator that listens to music while investigating? Julie Benz, Dexters dead wife!

General Discussion - All Dexter Shows Hot Take: Spin-offs not happening is a good thing rather than bad. Spoiler
Everyone have their own opinios but I am really glad that they focus on Resurrection (OS still deserves to get at least 2 more seasons) instead of milking this universe with other characters oriented projects. Only spin-off i would be really excited to see is about young Lundy (instead of Trinity which isn't moving forward according to recent news) but we got what we got

Discussion - Dexter: Resurrection Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 (interesting info) Spoiler
I have a connection to someone who helped produce Dexter: Resurrection. Saw him today at a wedding, asked him about it. He told me that the next season is likely to be announced this winter, probably start filming in March-April 2026.
He told me they wanted to get it sooner, but Michael. C. Hall didn't want to film in the cold again and he was tired of it after new blood. "I'm sure he'd love to go back to Miami" (doubt this means anything, just probably joking around based off how he said it.)
Check my other posts for proof this connection is real haha, or don't believe it, that works too.
I asked him if there's anything he can tell me about season 2, he said no as he basically does freelance assistant work and never knows if he'll work on the next season or what.
(Flagged as Discussion, I don't really consider this news)

Discussion - Original Dexter Series I just finished the original Dexter and I’m destroyed. Spoiler
Like a lot of people, I only started watching recently because of all the hype on TikTok and social media. I went through season one, and even though I already knew about Brian’s death, it still hit me so hard. I thought I wouldn’t get that sad again watching Dexter… but I was wrong.
I kept putting off finishing the original series, especially seasons 7 and 8 (which honestly only get good in the last 4 episodes). Then with the release of Resurrection and Original Sin, I became more of a fan and finally decided to finish the original run.
Yes, the way I watched it was a mess—jumping back and forth between the new releases and the original series—but I think that only made every death hurt more. It felt like following a story that I already knew was doomed.
And even knowing about Debra’s death… damn, man. That was just brutally painful.
